With Tibet bordering to the east, a mountainous area, ranging in altitude from 2,320 to 6,816 meters, Kinnaur strikingly beautiful. The slopes are covered with thick wood, orchards, fields and picturesque hamlets. It is famous for the Kinner Kailash, a mountain sacred to Hindus, close to the Tibetan border.

Also known as Baspa Valley, Sangla is about 16kms diversion towards right from Karcham which is at Hindustan Tibet Highway. Pankaj tells HolidayIQ, "Sangla is around 350kms from Chandigarh and the only way to reach there is by bus from Chandigarh or by taxi or own vehicle."

Arun describes his experience of Chitkul on HolidayIQ, "The route to Chitkul was like a road to heaven. The mountains, the valleys, the waterfalls, the small iron bridges, all are so different from the commercial destinations." Foreigners need a special permit to visit this place and "the Indians are required to produce ID cards at a check post en route Chitkul."

Batseri village is located on the left bank of Baspa River, 12kms through dense Cedar forests. the path leading to the village crosses a stream that has a typical bridge of cantilevered logs over it. The village offers cobbled paths, unique architecture and a locally designed temple of Badri Narayan and another dedicated to Lord Buddha.

Kalpa "is 240kms from Shimla which is almost the same as Manali, so one can't say it's too far from Shimla," tells Jay on HolidayIq. It is believed that the place was under the reign of Magadha followed by the Mauryan Empire during the 6th century. He adds further, "It is a place for those seeking peace n serenity."

Khyati is ecstatic about Roghi, "Simple people, culture, clean village." It is very popular for its apple orchards and ethnic village life. "In front of the village, the high peaked mountain ranges are the border mountain peaks of India and on the other side is Tibet," tells Smriti on HolidayIQ.
