Some of the most developed cities in the world were unrecognizable just a few decades ago but now have enviable nightlines that tourists from all over flock to see! Day 1. Nairobi

Kenya's capital, Nairobi has come a long way from what it was in the 50s. Before 1889, it was an uninhabited swamp and in early 1900s, the original tow was burnt down after a plague. It stopped being a British colony when Kenya got its independence in 1963 and is now home to international organizations like the United Nations Environment Programme and is a world famous business center. It also boasts of a gorgeous National Park where you can explore the Kenyan wildlife.

Right from being under Imperial China to being a British Colony till 1940, Hong Kong has seen it all. Four years of Japanese occupation followed and the British took control again in 1945 and ruled the palce till 1997. Rapid industrialization happened in the '80s and '90s and with a skyline studded with skyscrapers, Hong Kong is now one of the major business hubs in the world. It also houses a huge water park, a Disneyland and the most enchanting man made botanical garden in the world!

Seoul remained isolated till the late 19th century when when finally opened their gates to trade with other nations. The city took a beating in the Korean war of 40s but has not looked back ever since.With futuristic design plazas and some of the best architecture on the planet, Seoul is one of the fastest growing cities on the planet! An intriguing mishmash of pop culture, skyscrapers, fast life and Buddhist temples, Seoul is Korean cocktail at its best!

After having a torrid affair with colonization, fighting in the World Wars under various nation and being fought over, Singapore gained independence in 1965 and the prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, transformed the nation from a third world country to a first world development hub in a single generation. With some of the most gorgeously built buildings on the planet like the stunning Marina Bay Sands and the hypnotic Helix Bridge, Singapore now looks like a futuristic city straight out of a science fiction epic.

When it comes to transformation, Dubai takes the cake without breaking a sweat. After the discovery of oil near Dubai in 1966, what once was a barren desert, became the biggest achievement of humans in the form of architecture and limits and execution of imagination. From artificial islands and tall towers to the most luxury hotels on the planet, Dubai has them all!
