At an altitude of 2500 – 3000 m above the sea level, Auli is high enough to offer thick blankets of snow but not too isolated to be unaccessible. The 4km-long ropeway – one of the highest in Asia – between Auli and Joshimath is another reason why you should be here this winter. There are a number of skiing tracks, ranging from 400m to more than 3 km, interspersed with conifers.  The breath-taking panoramic view of several mountain peaks – Beethartoli, Dunagiri, Ghori Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Kamet, Mana Parwat, Nanda Devi, Nar Parbat and Nikanth –makes skiing even more an adrenaline-pumping activity in Auli. This is a once in a lifetime must experience kind of a place.

HolidayIQ Traveller Siddhartha Mohta shares, “Auli certainly provides the best skiing and snow boarding experience in India, Nestled between beautiful nanda devi, it gives an amazing 270 degrees view. This place is kinda remote, but all efforts to reach the place is worth it, prices are a bit on the higher side, but considering its remoteness i have no complaints. One can see a lot of folks from defence here, apart from skiing, one can go for beautiful treks. In Feb the temp reached -10 and it was a real good experience. A highly recommended place for travel enthusiasts.”
