This movie made us love Darjeeling again - the old-world charm, the toy train and the gleaming tea estates. “Watch the beautiful sunrise from Tiger Hill, have delicious tea and take a ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway,” says HolidayIQ Traveller Bijoy. Another movie that will leave you itching to do a road trip. It’s a truism that still holds – when Goa comes calling, you must oblige. Drive down with your buddies through the Konkan coast to Goa. Make a pit-stop at the Fort of Chapora. “This is where the scene in Dil Chahta Hai was shot, the three friends sitting on top of the fort. The view from the top is very beautiful,” says HolidayIQ Traveller Nikhil Vajandra.

The movie follows the story of a girl, who is abducted taken on a road trip across six different states in India. As the story progresses, landscapes melt and merge into newer ones, significantly different from each other. This is one film where the journey was much more intriguing than the destination. If Imtiaz Ali’s Highway taught us anything, it is this – hit the road and discover India’s hinterland. HolidayIQ Traveller B Kumar says, "It is full of ice which was around 7-8 feet thick, we have throughout the journey of going to and fro. The roads are only free from ice, otherwise its a full of ice. I have seen a place first time with so much ice. Pahalgam staying is my best place to visit."

4. Ye Ishq Haye - Jab We Met

If this won’t inspire you to travel Manali, God knows what will! Traversing across the Himalayas and taking you through snow-clad mountains, Manali’s gushing rivers and pristine surroundings, Manali is that warm glow you need on a nippy, wintry night. “Surrounded by cherry and apple trees, there I was in Manali - sitting by the river with a warm bowl of maggi noodles. You’ll love it,” says HolidayIQ Traveller Meenakshi Yadav.

A beautiful city with nice and friendly people. This city is one of the most popular city in India but even then it has a lot to offer. Right from the food to the places to visit. The must visit place in Kolkata are Howrah bridge, Dakshineshwar, Kali Ghat, Eco Park, and Bara Bazaar if you are up for some taste buds."
