Marine Drive is a 4.3-kilometre-long boulevard in Mumbai. It is a 'c'-shaped six-lane concrete road along the coast, which is a natural bay. Its deep and graceful curve is perhaps the city’s most famous image after the Gateway of India and iconic Hotel Taj Mahal. The romantic glitter of the long arc of streetlights along the promenade gives it an uncanny resemble to a necklace hence it is also known as Queen’s Necklace. The scenic beauty of the perfectly lined palm trees along with the evening lights is a sight to behold.

Marine Drive is where most Mumbaikars flock to when they seek a few moments of freedom from the stress of urban life. The sight of sparkling waters of the Arabian Sea and the amazingly cool sea breeze will put all your anxieties to bed. Marine Drive is lined with an array of restaurants offering mouth-watering delicacies and drinks to brighten your gloomiest of days. The Chowpatty Beach lies towards the northern end of Marine Drive, famous of its bhel-puri and a gamut of drool-worthy chats.

HolidayIQ Traveller Surya Kant Bhardwaj from Panipat shares, “My favorite place in the whole world, Marine Drive offers views of endless expanse of sea. Beautiful promenade absolutely amazing while watching the sun going down and even more beautiful at night (Queen's Necklace). Enjoying the fresh sea breeze and watching the fisher boats fading into the horizon. You can see a few crabs down the tetrapods. On one end is Chowpatty beach with loads of eateries around while on the other end are 5 star hotels & Nariman Point which an important landmark for theatre.” Adds HolidayIQ traveller Govind Tailor from Mumbai further adds, “It is an awesome place in south Mumbai. If you visit Mumbai and didn't visit here then you missed real Mumbai. Marine Drive actually a six lane concrete road along the coast. It is shaped as english alphabet "C", Marine Drive is also known as the Queen's Necklace because, if viewed at night from an elevated point anywhere along the drive, the street lights resemble a string of pearls in a necklace. If you want best view of Marine Drive than I will advice you to go there in night along the six lane road night view of this place is amazing.”
