You can visit St. Marys island, Beach, Sri Krishna temple, Anegudde temple and visit beach nearby. Local buses are available and autos also available for reasonable rates. St. Marys island is a one day trip. Better take some food (especially for pure veg). Relax in beach evening and play water sports."

HolidayIQ Traveller Pritvi says, "Gokarna is located in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. Ardent devotees visit Gokarna during the Mahashivaratri festival. The must-visit attractions in and around Gokarna include the Om beach, the Mahabaleshwar Temple which houses the Atmalinga and the Mahaganapati Temple. It is very easy to reach Gokarna by road from Karwar, Hubli and Mangalore. For Train Buffs, the Konkan Railway is the best way to get on a day journey on this Majestic Railway line. The best season to visit Gokarna is between September to February."

5. And Then There's The Beautiful Murudeshwar

HolidayIQ Traveller Kartavya says, "I've been to wonderful places I swear, but this, this peak is something else. I have trekked on the snow in Kashmir and cycled downhill in Shimla, paragliding in Manali, and seen the sunrise from Darjeeling. But what I had no idea of before visiting Kudremukh was the extent of bliss possible to be attained just by being there and doing nothing."

6. And Mangalore

HolidayIQ Traveller Raghavendra says, "Mangalore is a must visit place if you are interested in beaches and temples. There are several lovely beaches all around and numerous temples in different directions. Typical coastal weather of India, that is humid, welcomes you to this city. Being the education hub of Karnataka and India this city bubbles with youngsters and therefore very lively."

7. Finally, Passing By Dudhsagar Falls

source: wikimedia

HolidayIQ Traveller Deepak says, "The falls is easily accessible by train, the two available options being trek from castle Rock 14 kms walk following the railway tracks, or trek for 4 kms following the same track from the nearest station. No restaurants or restrooms or amenities of any sort are available so this will be close to a camping or trekking experience rather than a leisurely tour, do ensure to ask locals for help or guidance as the tracks are treacherous and safety of any kind is unavailable. The view and trek will be worthy of the effort and best season would be post monsoon or during monsoon, ie July to December. The weather will be unpredictable and being closer to sea expect humidity and intermittent drizzles."
