1. Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar

Fondly known as Swarn Mandir, this two-storied structure is covered with around 400 kg of gold! The site of this temple is truly enchanting on full moon. Also known as the Golden Temple, this places holds the highest significance for Sikhs.

2. Vaishno Devi, Jammu

One of the highest visited pilgrimage sites in India, this temple is located amidst the gorgeous mountain ranges near Katra in Jammu. About eight million devotees and travellers pay a visit here every year!

If you're visiting here, you have to stay in Katra, that is 14 km away from the caves of Vaishno Devi. Tupesh Shiv recommends Surya Palace hotel, "The destination was excellent and we went there for both religious and adventures purposes. We reached the hotel very easily as it is in the main city. The surrounding area was very nice. Behaviour of the staff was very good and wonderful trekking facility was provided nearby the hotel. View from my room was very scenic."

3. Dargah Sharif, Ajmer

Dargah Sharif, venerated by both Hindus and Muslims is the tomb of Khwaja Muin-ud-din Chishti. He was a Sufi saint who came from Persia and devoted his life to the service and welfare of the poor and downtrodden. This place is considered to be the holiest for Muslims. 

Khan Irfanullah stayed in Regency Hotel on his visit to Dargah Sharif. He shares, "Hotel was good near the station and also near dargah around one kilometer distance. Water facility was nice, any time we get cold and hot water in bathroom. Affordable price. You also get transport nearby for going anywhere you want to go."

4. Velankanni Church, Tamil Nadu

According to the manuscripts, Mother Mary visited this shrine with Jesus in the 16th or early 17th century. The locals state that she performed three miracles at different sites, which provided a platform for construction of the Basilica. Every Catholic believer visits here once in a lifetime. 

If you wish to travel here, summers and winters are the best time. Antonio Antony recommends MGM Vailankanni Residency, "Located just beyond the crowds that throng the church, lovely rooms, and great service will enhance your spiritual experience. The beds are just fabulous, even if it's an extra bed. The pool is very inviting considering the heat."

This Buddha temple was constructed around the original Bodhi Tree in the 7th century AD where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.The temple houses an ancient Shivalingam, which is believed to be installed in 860 AD. Travel back in time, need we say more. 

Reeya Mishra chose Buddha International. You'll be blown away by what she got to see from here, "I went to see the Buddha temple with 2 more friends. It was fun and peace of mind. It was near Buddha temple and we could see the prayer of monks from the terrace. The service of the hotel was as good that you can't feel any kind of burden and problems, while visiting to that glory place."
