How to get there: You could take the scenic route by bus. Though there are no direct Manali trains that you can take there is a station 170km away in Chandigarh. The closest airport is Bhuntar Airport in Bhuntar which is 50km from Manali. You can also hire a car/cab.

From expansive tea estates to blossoming green forests and appealing bungalow-stays, Ooty is packed with something for every kind of traveller. Divya shares about her visit with HolidayIQ, "We saw places like the Dolphin's Nose, Lambs Rock and Dodabetta peak. You should visit Doddabetta around 5:30 pm or 6 pm. We also went to Sims park and Rose Garden." 

If you want a fun day, you can take an entire Ooty tour by Nilgiri Mountain Railway. HolidayIQ reviewer Sunil liked the "homemade chocolates" there while HolidayIQ reviewer Jayant feels everyone "must visit the Botanical Garden."

How to get there: Tickets for the Ooty trip by bus can be booked in person or online. The main railway station is the Udhagamandalam railway station and the nearest airport is in Coimbatore which is 96 km from Ooty.

Kodaikanal’s culture is an intriguing amalgamation of the American and British influences, who turned the place into a summer retreat. HolidayIQ reviewer Kadiyala shares the must-visit spots which are, "the lake which is so long, the forest area which covers Coaker's walk, Dolphin's Nose and Suicide point," while HolidayIQ reviewer Suraj feels "Pillar Rock and Guna Cave" are worth a visit.

How to get there: Well-connected by a fleet of buses which terminate at three of its major bus stations i.e. –the Kodaikanal Bus Stand, the Moonjikkal Bus Stop and the Lake Bus Stop. Take a train to the Kodaikanal Road Railway Station or book a flight to the Madurai Airport or the Coimbatore Airport which are the nearest ones.

The name ‘Nainital’ means ‘lake of the eye’. Legend goes that once when three sages visited the place, they found that there was no water. They dug a hole and filled it with water from Mansarovar Lake. HolidayIQ reviewer Harsh lists out the must-visit places, "You can visit the Naini Lake, the Mall Road, High Altitude zoo, Snow View point, Eco Caves Garden, botanical garden, lake view point, waterfall etc."

Coming up to the altitude of this lake city, people of all faith find a way to connect to divine and Nature together as one, be it in the clanging bells of temple or aroma of burning candles in church or in the serene silence of understanding the Himalayas. Nautical and its lakes will leave any nature lover in awe."

How to get there: Take the bus or a cab if you want to enjoy the scenic journey. The closest one is in Kathgodam at a distance of 17kms. You can also take a flight to Pantnagar which is 63.8km from Nainital.

How to get there: Government managed bus operators including Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) ply buses from the Mussoorie Bus StandDehradun Railway Junction is only 17 km away or you can also choose to fly into the Dehradun Airport.
