Kochi is a celebration of Kerala's unique history and culture. The Mattancherry Palace also known as Dutch palace, the Paradesi Synagogue which "was built in 1568. This place of worship is witness to arrival of the Dutch, Portuguese and then the British." says HolidayIQ reviewer Rashmin. Trivandrum, Kerala's capital, is defined by long sandy beaches, wooded highlands, picturesque shorelines and a rich cultural heritage.

HolidayIQ reviewer Venkat Raman says,The city is beautiful with lots of greenery around. The famous Padmanabha temple is a jewel in the crown for the city. The museum and palaces are also worth visiting. The famous Kovalam and Poovar beaches add to the beauty of this location. Boat riding is a nice experience in the Poovar beach.“

3. Munnar

The name Munnar is believed to mean "three rivers", referring to its location at the confluence of the Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers. The cultural heritage of Munnar is an amalgamation of that of the British, the Malayalis, and the Tamilians. 

Siddhartha tells HolidayIQ, "Munnar certainly is the coldest and the best sightseeing place in whole of Kerala, I was stumped by the lake and tea plantations." 

Other things to do: 

Sachin suggests a visit to Echo Point, "Visit Kolukumalai. It's 1hour from Suryanelli, a town 14 km away from Munnar. The jeep's charge is Rs. 1200 per jeep but it's worth more than anything money can buy. This is one of the rarely visited places around Munnar as its never publicized as the road is a publicized."

Sundarraj Kaushik Shares on HolidayIQ: "The Eravikulam National Park houses the Tahr, a species of mountain goats. It not guaranteed that one will see this. But what one can be sure of is to see a variety of birds like the oriental white-eye, different species of whistling thrush and others."

4. Thekkady

5. Alappuzha

Far from the maddening crowd, lies Alleppey- a peaceful town bubbling with friendly people and a vibrant culture. Fondly called the “Venice of the East”, it is a perfect refuge for a long weekend. Try the delectable local cuisine or enjoy the lighthouse view at this calm beach. Know what Nicole has to say about it, "Cute little villages located on the backwaters, great food and nice people." Adds Sharon, "Cycling near the beach is a must."
