Horrible driver. The ticket collector has no manners. Left late, reached late and had a breakdown on the way. Overall, the entire journey was horrible. The people were calm and casual. I guess this would be a routine. The government must change the buses, as they have been worn out. It's out of condition.
I with my friends went to Kolkata in the night bus and enjoy the very beautiful moments on the was. It is so nice journey for me. I enjoyed every moment. See various types of bridge river, jungles and hills that attracted me. And bus quality is so good, A/c and LCD music system that gives a good comfort. Good quality seat and water is available in bus. I advice to all the travellers that they also go by this bus and and feel a nice and good experience.
The staff were good and bus was comfortable. But they need to stop frequently during the entire journey, with family its extremely difficult if they only stop twice in 15-17 hours journey. Also they should provide blankets. A/C was comfortable. No water bottles provided and no charging points available.
An excellent bus journey you can always expect when you travel by Kadamba Transport Corporation - Govt. of Goa, especially from Goa to Bangalore or Bangalore to Goa. I had so far observed 4 good travel experiences from Kadamba Transport Corporation - Govt. of Goa. Good staff and courteous, they always care about traveller's comfort especially for kid and Ladies travellers. An affordable yet a great journey which is on time or some time before time you will arrive at your destination.
Kadamba is the best travel provider in Goa, it has buses running within the city and out side to States like Karnataka and Maharashtra. It has daily trips for both the states which do not require booking and the fare is reasonable. They even have executive service which can be booked through Redbus or at Kadamba office.
It was a season time and I could not find single bus to travel to Goa. We were four friends and were hell bent about going there so we had to take this pathetic Kadamba Bus Services. The route it took was also equally horrible. I would not suggest anyone to use this travel.
I went there in Kadamba Bus at night 11:30 from Shimoga. Itís a non AC bus. It does not provide water bottles and it was night at that time and I reached there at 7 am and itís the best time to visit Goa. Traveller has to Cary pillows, blankets and water bottles with them.
If you decide to travel by bus to Goa from Mumbai, bus by Goa govt "Kadamba" is one of the best options. Its cheap (I mean the rates do not sore as in case of some private operators); and moreover, they are reliable and services are also good. 1. There is 1 bus daily to and from Mumbai, leaving Mumbai (Vashi) @ 8pm and reaching by 5am at Panjim. Bus from Panjim leaves @ 6pm arriving Vashi @ by 6. Ticket should cost approximately 700. You can buy tickets online, as well. 2. Its not a multi axel Volvo thus seats are not that comfortable; however, buses are in good condition. 3. It goes via old Goa highway, thus, be ready for lots of twists and turns the whole night and if you have sickness due to twists and turns, be prepared with required medicines in advance. They do provide with sickness backs, if you need. 4. Its a govt bus so they do adhere to timings. If you have to catch your office once you are back in Mumbai, you can trust them to reach on time. 5. Toilets at halts on the way were reasonably clean. I am not sure about the food in the restaurants though. It however appeared expensive. 6. Bus staff too was courteous and helpful.
Remember that it is NOT allowed to carry liquor from Goa to Mumbai (even if you have buy permit from the liquor shop as they make it for Daman, not for Maharashtra). There is heavy police checking once you enter MH and if caught, they will confiscate the bottles. Its however not a crime though if you have 1-2 bottles and you won't be booked but better not to carry at all rather than giving it to cops. If you travel by govt buses, risk multiplies. My bus was made stop 3 times by MH cops that night and whole bus was thoroughly checked by cops.
Journey was excellent. Seats were comfortable. I suggest booking the front or middle seats as there are very little bumps and jerks. Book early to get the best seats. Agent booking can be done through a phone call too or online. They response politely and excellently. A/c was functioning good and might suggest a bed sheet to cover yourself if you are a person who feels chilly.
