The road is superb, left home at 5.30 and was in the hotel at 12 noon, after stopping for breakfast in Mayaura at Bellur cross. Except stopping in the tools 2-3 places rest was breeze. The speed gets reduced once hitting Sakaleshpur due to the single and winding roads. An excellent journey.

This property is quite old in the city of Mangalore, location is very good next to the. C. Office and State bank circle. It is also very close to the new mall Forum Fiza. The rooms are quite compact but manageable. Hotel staff is very good and smiling, they are more than happy to help you with...more »

It was an awesome drive, it would had been good, if we had proper lighting on the highways and that too on the hills. The turning towards Mangalore was not marked properly and most of the directions were in Kannada, I understand it is the local language, but government should understand that only locals are not travelling. It is for everyone, so either they can have English (which is a universal language), if not Hindi. Tourism generates funds not from locals but from outsiders, so they should understand that outsiders not necessarily may know the local language.

I had longed to travel to Mangalore but never had a chance to do so. Guess other plans came up back then. This time, being my birthday I decided to take this chance to drive down to Mangalore with a couple of my cousins. To our luck the Shiradi Ghat had just been repaired and thrown open for vehicles to ply on. I had heard a lot about the scenic beauty of the Ghat Roads and when we touched base, we realised that was all true. We had the most beautiful drive through the the lush green ghats. The rain Gods had been lashing all through the journey but we took our chances to step out of the car to take some quick snaps through the journey. Wet roads, green forests, and the sound of the gushing river made us love the whole experience of travelling through this Ghat section. You've got to be a little careful though with the truck traffic which slows you down at the sharp curves. But then, it gives to the time to enjoy the beauty of the nature around you every time you slow down.

Took Hassan, BC road via Charmadi Ghat, drive was very good and thrilling. Charmadi Ghat Roads are covered with full fog and difficult to see anything further which is beyond 5-6 feet. As usual the view was very beautiful and relish-able. This part of the year is very rainy and it's a must to carry umbrella to complete your journey successfully.

Its really awesome experience travelling to Mangalore from Bangalore by car, since its a ghat section so you will enjoy the travel. But I came to know that you will enjoy the journey when you travel in the morning train from Bangalore to Mangalore. You will find number of tunnels, water flows. Water-falls and many beautiful sceneries enroute and you will really love it.
