Nice Place With helpful people

Nice City but this wasn't the climate to visit. 45 degrees, not an ideal time to visit. The heart of the city, civil lines area was extremely polluted. If it wouldn't have been a necessity I wouldn't have visited here in this hot weather. But I must say people here are helpful, I visited the city first time and people were extremely cooperative.

Allahabad travel

TriveniSangam is a place where Ganges, Yamuna, Saraswati meet. The place can be reached by 30mts boat ride. In the morning sun rise can be seen. Hanuman Temple is near by. Accommodation is expensive in Allahabad. Air connectivity should be improved. The road from Varanasi is not laid completely It took 4hrs for 120km.

Allahabad work and tempels.

I visited Allahabad primarily for work and going to triveni sangam and tempels. Was a good experience over all. Place is relatively clean and pretty organised, tho it is not a rush season. Food is good. Electric autos and cycle autos are plentiful. Even tho one has to bargain hard and always check your maps. It's pretty good once you see the ganges. Cheers.

The Immortal City

Being a sociocultural rich place, I embarked on a short trip to identify new and explore the usual favorite places, food, beverages and the heritage sites. The city just took my breath away! From a preset mind of might having to face shrewd and tricksters, it just embraced me with its greatness. The people just greeted with a smile wherever I went and served me with a lot more than just what I asked for (their own stories). A city which has longing a good governance ensures that it can do the maximum so that minimum is left to the government. I agree that it is definitely not the cleanest or hygienic places but people compensate for it all. Food is undoubtedly among the best and so is Lakhan ki chai from Civil lines. A whole lot came as delight from heritage sites like Sangam, Patalpuri temple (AkshayaVat - The Immortal Tree) so on and so forth.
There's a whole lot to describe about this intriguing city and a short is definitely not enough to experience it all.

Ganga Yaumna Sarsvati Sangam ...

It is believed to be the spot where Lord Brahma offered his first sacrifice after creating the world. The city was captured by the Mughals in 1526. It was given the name Allahabad or 'city of Gods' by the Maugham Emperor Akbar Present day Allahabad is a major hub for religious tourism.

Prayag Sangam ..

Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the extinct river Saraswati ... Is just amazing. The sparkling and glittering waters with the afternoon sun ... The siberian birds floating and hovering above, the splashing Oars all had its own unique experience .. Simply amazing
People perform religious and funeral rites as offerings to the three rivers, a dip in the confluence is said to free one and their ancestors of sins ... Loved the Boat ride ..

Abode of god

Allahabad is one of the 7 holy cities of Hinduism. It is also one of the venues of the famous 'Kumbh mela' and is also knows as 'Prayag' because of the famous 'triveni sangam' which is located in the south of the city. The sangam is the said to be the confluence of 3 rivers ie. Ganga, yamuna and saraswati however only ganga and yamuna are the rivers which merge here and saraswati is said to be in hidden form within ganga. Other attractions include the Allahabad fort, Khusro bhag, All saints cathedral, Anand bhavan, Jawahar planetarium Thornhill mayne memorial which is also the public library and Alfred park

Must visit destination

I had been to Allahabad by train in the month of December 2016. Allahabad is a must-visit destination in the tourism circuit of Uttar Pradesh. The must-visit destinations around Allahabad include the Triveni Sangam, Allahabad Fort and the iconic Anand Bhawan. The Triveni Sangam is the confluence of three major rivers namely Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Interestingly, This is the site of the Kumbh Mela held once in only 12 years. The Allahabad Fort is located near the Triveni Sangam. The watch-tower of the fort guards 3 of the gigantic galleries. The Allahabad fort construction was started by Emperor Ashoka and was completed by the great Mughal emperor Akbar in 1583. The historic Anand Bhawan was built by Motilal Nehru in the 1930's as the residence of the Nehru family. Indira Gandhi donated this building in 1970 and today, this building serves as a house museum depicting the life and times of the Nehru Family. This building houses the Jawahar Planetarium which was built in 1979.

Allahabad is a city in Uttar Pradesh state.

Allahabad is a city in Uttar Pradesh state, north India. Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and 'invisible' Saraswati rivers, is considered holy by Hindus. It’s near the 16th-century Allahabad Fort, built by Maugham Emperor Akbar. In the fort are the ancient sandstone Ashoka Pillar, the Patalpuri Temple and a sacred banyan tree. The Allahabad Museum has Rajasthani miniature paintings.
