Nice place to visit if you are in Goa

Chapora beach is not very popular aiming tourists because it is located outside of the city near Vagator. People visiting Vagator or chapora fort usually come to this beach Very good place to play football or any other beach games Water is not very clear as compared to the other beaches A good place to spend time in the evening if you are visiting Vagator.

Sleeping beach; wakes up for mid-night parties

Vagator beach. Sleeping beach; wakes up for mid-night parties. This is on the chapora river basin and in the shadow of Chapora fort . The beach is serene, calm and famous for exclusive mid-night parties . If you want to spend time alone or in private, there is lot of space here for that . When we were here, there were few water sports options available and the offers were good (cheaper, longer duration) as. There is less demand. We enjoyed a water bike ride here . The beach is slightly rocky and unique from other beaches . The beachline that starts from Sinquerium ends here in style Chapora fort. A phir 'Dil Chahta hai' fort, breathtaking panaromic view around. This fort in North Goa is relatively unique - its old, abandoned(by the Govt) and less visited of the places . Yet you see people flocking this place now and then . You need to have your own vehicle to access this place. Just make sure when you are the foot of the hillock, there are some vehicles around to make sure you have some company at the top. There is absolutely nothing at the top as it is a completely abandoned fort - no wonder you see piles of beer/whiskey bottles once you reach the top . It is advisable to make it to the fort during day time(when it is not hot) and if possible in a group . Once you climb the hillock(a small trek), what you see is a big playground like area surrounded by brick walls . The view of Arabian sea is panaromic from all side . There is no end clicking photos in this location . What I loved most was the view of river joining the sea; it is mindlblowing and I spent few minutes just gazing at this natures wonder - absolutely fabulous . You can view Vagator and Chapora beaches from here . I made best use of my selfie phone gadget here . If the climate is favourable(heat, breeze) you would not like to budge from this location .

A nice place to visit

Chapora for is located close to Anjuna Beach in Goa . About 20 kms from Panaji. This is known for being the location of the movie Dil chatha Hai . It offers a stunning view of the beaches and sea beneth . We went during noontime and time was too hot and bright ,. Don't make that mistake . Go to see the Sunset . There is no opening and closing time . You can go anytime you want . There is a small uphil walk of may be 5 minutes. That also is not actually difficult. Yu can see Morjim beach and Anjuna beach from the top of chapora fort. Bring something to drink from the town since there are no shops nearby

Celebrating The Union !!!

The seclusion from the utterly frolic and hoopla of the winter-carnivals in Goa - the Chapora Fort is a place to free oneself. The steep cliffs on the back of the misshaped Vagator beach rises to the 300 years old ruins of Chapora Fort. The beach gives a wide-angle view of the Vagator in south and the stretched view of the Arabian Sea in the West. The cool sea-air soothes you when one relaxes on the remains of the angular seafaring bastions with irregularly spaced embrasures The plush-green stretch of pasture with a contrasting bright-brown rock-structures gives the place an irresistible look. And, when old buddies get united, the place gives the charm of the Indian film Dil Chahta Hai. Yes, this is the spot where the famous scene of the three friends sitting from back was shot. A must see place in Goa. Get a bike and ride to Vagator. Trek to the top Just get a can of beer. Face the sea. Feel the zephyr. A fulfilling experience !!

Dil Chahta Hai!!

The highlight of Chapora is the Chapora fort, situated between Chapora and Vagator.

This is where the scene in Dil Chahta Hai was shot, of the three friends sitting atop a fort. The views from the top of the fort are very beautiful.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There are tours which take you to the Vagator beach, but the fort is usually left unvisited.

There are a few shops along the beach, but otherwise there isn't much shopping.

Activities & things to do: No water sports are available

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: One will probably have to come here via local bus, hire a vehicle and drive down to the fort.

Make sure you wear your sport shoes while visiting this place, because you will have to climb the hill for about 10 minutes to reach the fort.
