Charming chaukori

How could I describe Chaukori? It is beyond all adjectives. The ocean-blue sky with cumulous snow-white clouds sailing like bunch of magnolias, the velvet-green forests of oak, pine, maple and birch, the colorful smile of known-unknown alpine flowers and above all, the Himalayas - Nandadevi, Nandakot, Trishul, Panchochulli ranging 180 degree in front of your eyes - yes, that's Chaukori.
You have to reach Chaukori via Nainital, Kausani and Bageswar. In fact, we came here from Kausani. On the way, we visited the famous Bagnath temple at Bageswar, a very busy town on the banks of Sarju and Gomti where these two rivers embraced each other. Our Rehired from Nainital @ Rs2200 per day) entered Chaukori at about 10. 30 am since we left Kausani as early as 6. 00 am. Anyway, we were charmed to see our abode(Angana resort @ Rs 1200) amidst a vast bugial(large meadow) as if hanging over a valley! Chaukori was so full of birds, butterflies and flowers! We forgot that we were on earth. It seemed being in heaven. The resort was beautifully decorated with several alpine flower plants, and they were then in full bloom. I must mention here that I got the name and fone no of this resort from no other than HOLIDAY IQ, thanks to them. We roamed the little valley throughout the day, had our lunch in a market hotel, about a km away from the resort and got back in the afternoon. The large burial housed only this resort, there was no one to disturb you. Then we witnessed an unearthly sundown! The play of colors spellbound us. Except Chopta, I have never ever watched such a mesmerising sunset! In our dinner we had roti with deshi chicken curry along with full onions and green chilli. That was not less fascinating than the sundown!
Next day, we got up very early to watch the sunrise. The horizon was clear and visible in the east up to 180 degree. We were waiting ... Waiting and then the moment came! A fireball jumped all on a sudden from the end of the skyline and started painting the sky with yellow, orange, blue, scarlet, crimson and red! We stared bewildered to the canvas of the God - neither any human hand could ever draw it with his brush, nor the most precious camera of the world would record this beauty! After breakfast, we set out for Munsiyari bidding Chaukori good-bye. I suggest everyone to spend a night here on the way to Munsiyari. Yes, Chaukori is waiting for you.

Amazing destination at lap of Himalayas

Our trip was like Kolkata- (Dhoulchina)-Delhi -kolkata A car from Delhi to Delhi was hired . Great experiences through out the tour. This was my 2nd visit to Chaukori after almost 10 years latter. But surprise & more delightful to see that there were not so much changes in Chaukori in terms of so called development & that's why till now Cahukori is able to keep its original smell of nature Only or OJASWI is recommended to stay at Chaukori is an ideal destination for those who are willing to be in lap of Himalyas in clam & space on nature.
