Soothing place

Great place to relax. People of Davangere go for walk here. Excellent place to enjoy the sun rise and sun set. The view of paddy fields next to lake is really good. Also get to see a variety of birds like kingfisher. Overall the experience was great and very soothing.

Nice city with huge population and mainly the roads are in very bad condition unable to roam the city. Coming to the special items at morning, you will get a special dish called Benna(ghee) Dosa is famous not only in Davangere throughout Karnataka, really very delicious those who are likely to visit this place please order this dish in your menu and you will like, it's really good.

An ok-ok weekend destination

Davangere is easily accessible from Bangalore by road. By car it would take about 5 hours. The road journey is going to be super smooth. Perfect 3 and 4 lane highway all the way. So its perfect if you want to go on a long drive or a no frills road trip with friends for the weekend.

The place is not a big city. I would call it a decent town with famous colleges. Not much to do here but a couple of good scenic places around to click some cool snaps.

Chitradurga is a place nearby where you can visit some old forts and while away some time. My favourite spot though was a place called Vani Vilas Sagar which is on the way from Davangere to Bangalore. It is dam which is beautiful to witness the sunset. We went there at about 4 PM. The road from the main road to the dam is newly laid and is a dream to drive on. We spent about 2 hours there and didn't really want to leave the place. There is a cliff near the dam and there are stairs through which you can reach there. Its very breezy in the evenings and you will love the photos clicked here.

When in Davangere one must try out the benne dosa (butter dosa) and the paddu. These are the specialty foods of this place. The dosa is amazing and you can't stop with just one.

There are some decent hotels around where one can stay.
