Try only if you have spare time
Dona Paula offers a beach, a view point and water sports activity. We had been to Dona Paula view point, spent around 40 minutes there. There is a jetty on one side and on the other side there is hillock. There are few stairs which lead to the top where there is small platform from where one can have panaromic beautiful view of Arabian sea, Vasco and other parts of Goa. There are eateries, congested parking space. According to me, if you have a spare time then visit this place.

Equidistant from North - South Goa
Dona Paula is quite good beach located between North and South Goa. Small local market is also found on the way where you can get TIARA in numerous varieties. Also theres small hill type where many movies were shot especially Singham & Dilwale. But in Goa its not Must visit point. If you are running out of time, you can skip this beach.

Good place for an awesome view of Arabian Sea
Dona Paula is located in south Goa beside the Miramar beach... The place relates to the history of Dona Paula, a famous beautiful Portuguese lady who didn't want to marry the then viceroy and committed suicide from the cliff here. The place was built after her. You get some awesome views from here..

All the hawkers should be given pucca small cynical for these shops. Also the road leading to the status from the main road should have the divider so that there is no traffic jam

Average place to visit with family or group
This is just a normal place to visit which has been made popular by the Indian movie 'Singham'. It is called as a lovers' point inspired by Dona Paula. Along near to this place, there's a small market too selling beach clothes and accessories. Visit this place for a quiet time in Goa.

A place dedicated to the woman of charity
Dona Paula which was once a village is now a famous tourist destination in the Indian State of Goa. It houses the International Centre Goa, The National Institute Of Oceanography and Goa University just alongside. The place is situated close to the merger point of two rivers Mandovi and Zurai into the Arabian sea. In the olden days, fishing was the major activity of the people of dona paula. However today, numerous resorts and cottages have come up, making it an important tourist destination of Goa. Earlier which was a village is now home to few top Industrialists of India and policy makers of the state. It is also the most expensive residential location in Goa. The Raj bhavan of Goa is located near the La Marvel Colony in Dona Paula. The location of Dona Paula and its sculpture has given rise to many myths. The place is situated on a Fist shaped rock. Few says that Dona and Paula, were husband and wife and once husband gone to sea and turned back and wife turned to stone after years of waiting, and some says that they jumped to sea from this point and ended their lives. The sculptor on the rock has been built to commemorate the love of the two. Paula in the name Dona Paula refers to Paula Amral Antonio the Souto Maior, who was a lady and daughter of the Portuguese viceroy for Jaffnapatnam, in Sri Lanka. Dona, in Portuguese means married and Paula was married to a Spanish man Fidalgo Dom Antonio Souto Maior in 1656 and she died on 16th December 1682 as they were very affectionate to each other. The Lovely Lady Dona Paula was very kind hear ted and she was doing charity for the villagers and for the deprived ones, earlier this place was known as Oddavel and the Villagers decided to change the name of the area as Dona Paula, besides all myths a great extension of love and affection of people towards the Woman Of Charity. Dona Paula is essentially a beach resort, with water sports being the primary activity. Some tourist attractions of Dona Paula are the National Institute Of Oceanography, the Salim Ali bird sanctuary and the Cabo Fort a Siddhi Vinayak Temple, a small Church and the beaches. Like the rest of Goa, Dona Paula has tropical climate, with high humidity throughout the year. The temperature ranges from 30-35 throughout the year and the best time to visit Dona Paula is during the months of November to February, During the tourist season Dona Paula transforms into a crowded stretch which is otherwise a calm beautiful place during monsoons. This place neither connected by Rail nor By Air so Road is feasible mean though through water routes can be reached, and it is very well connected by State Transport Local Bus Services. Beautiful & an amazing destination
This is a beautiful place surrounded by clear blue water on all three sides. There is a viewpoint at a height which provides a panoramic view of the seas all around. No wonder two (or possibly more) bollywood movies chose this place. There are small shops selling caps, hats which are beautifully designed. Its a quiet place and must visit in Goa. But please ensure to maintain cleanliness and not to smoke on tourist places as it pollutes the atmosphere.
