Temple at Gulbarga

Sharan Basweshwar temple is the most famous temple in Gulbarga and a great tourist attraction. However I consider it as a neglected one. There were no boards to mention the importance and knowledge about the Temple.
Shraddha and our feelings is a different story but feeling pleasant is yet another thing. There is a huge lake nearby but neglected one and with poor lighting. Cows and other animals could roam around freely as per their wish.
Overall it requires a great improvement.

Great people, great food, great experience

A city with lively environment and great monuments and temples around. Based strategic location between Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. Good connectivity of rail, road, nearest airport is Hyderabad. Religious place with cross culture of hindu, muslim, maratha, christians, sikhs. Food is finger licking with red hot spiciness, if you are a hot/spicy food lover, you will enjoy eating.

It's a business town, nothing much to see here

What does one do at Gulbarga? Business hopefully, cause if you are here for tourism, I don't know what you are thinking . . It's only about 3. 5 hours drive from Hyderabad but also well connected by trains and buses to Bangalore and Hubli. Food has a hyderbadi influence to it too.

This highly artistic Panchalingeshwara Temple complex with wonderful engravings and cylindrical pillars is considered as main attraction of Sedam town. Two beautiful dwarapalas are at the entrance of the temple complex. This temple complex house five Shiva linga in five Grabhagrihas, out of which two where housed in the main temple, rest three are in different temples of the complex. The most attractive features of this temple complex were the live sized Shaiva Dwarapalas, the two lady dwarapalas & wonderful ceilings.

A nice place to visit

Gulbarga is located around 625 kilometres from the State capital, Bengaluru and 200 kilometres from Hyderabad. Gulbarga is in the news for its art and architecture and blistering summer heat. In summer, the temperature often crosses 45 Degrees celsius in the months of May and June. The must-see attractions in Gulbarga include the Bahmani fort and the mutt at malakheda in Sedam Taluk and the Sharanabasaveshwara Temple in Gulbarga. The condition of the roads in Gulbarga in general are pathetic necessitating immediate repair and renovation of roads in this humid place. The best Season to visit Gulbarga is between September to February.
