Most Adventurous Tour Ever!

We landed in Delhi airport we went to haldwani from bus from haldwani we went to gwaldham by taxi, it was the most adventurous tour ever! We went for trekking with YHAI to roopkund and the journey was mesmerizing! Beautiful Mountains we also experienced snow rain strom, the climate in the mountains changes every half an hour just awesome!

Gwaldam at its best

We went for trekking at Gwaldam and the journey was mesmerizing! Hills and mountains where awesome. We took spice jet flight from Mumbai to Delhi from Delhi we went to haldwani from bus from haldwani we went to Gwaldam by taxi the road are in good condition also the taxi drivers are cooperative.

Gwaldam Overview

Gwaldam is a town and hill station situated between the Garhwal and Kumaon regions. The town is located in Chamoli District of Uttaranchal. The place is situated at an average elevation of 1,708 m above sea level. The town of Gwaldam is surrounded by pine trees and has the Pindaar River flowing through it.

Gwaldam is known for an SSB training ground located within the central part of this town. The people of Gwaldam are from Kumauni and Garhwali cultures. Cuisines of this region includes kaafuli, jholi, til ki chutney, baadi, roat, aloo tamatar ka jhol, bhatt ki churdkani and bhaang ki chutney.

There is a trekking route in Gwaldam which goes to Lake Roop Kund. The route to this lake goes through dense forests and provides views of the Trishul and Chaukhamba peaks. The famous temple town of Baijnath, built in the 13th century by Katyuri rulers, is at a distance of 22 km from Gwaldam.

According to legends, Shiva and Parvati were married here. Once every 12 years, the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra, which is a revered religious journey in the region, starts from here. The Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Ghuti mountains are visible from every corner of this town. Tourist destinations nearest to Gwaldam are Bageshwar, Kausani and Ranikhet.

The nearest major railway station to Gwaldam is Kathgodam (KGM), which is at a distance of 160 km. The nearest airport is at Pant Nagar, at a distance of 250 km. The town is connected by motorable roads from all the major towns of Uttarakhand and the facility of cabs and buses are available to reach this town.

Gwaldam has a pleasant climate all through the year, with an annual average maximum temperature of around 21° Celsius and an average minimum temperature of about 10.5° Celsius. As it is a hill station, the climate of this place remains hospitable throughout the year. However, the time between March and June are suitable for outdoor and sight seeing activities.
