Awesome place to relax and explore . Great Architecture and Hills

The town of Hampi is about 14km from the Hospet junction. It is nestled in the hills of Matanga and Anjaneya on the banks of river Tungabhadra. The ruins of Vijayanagar capital city are dotting the town of Hampi across both the sides of the river . . The Virupaksha temple, Wakeful temple, Krishna temple, Kampa Bhupa's path, Hemakuta Hill and Anjaneya Hill are a must see. The coracle ride in the river is a must-to-do experience. Since Hampi is visited more by foreigners than by Indians, you will find all types of cousins in Hampi. But the south Indian local eateries in the Hampi bazar are the most delicious. Local markets are fun to shop in and there is a lot of scope for bargaining You can rent and ride cycles and scooters across the town or hire a rickshaw for the day. It is worth noting that the ferry rides close at 5:30 in the evening and open around 9 in the morning. So it is advisable to get a homestay accommodation near the Hampi bazar on the Virupaksha temple side of the river as there are many things worth exploring early in the morning and many sunset points. The ferry service providers charge very high prices for the ferry rides before or after their preceded timings

Leisure and Relaxing holiday

Hampi is a beautiful heritage town in Karnataka with very rich history. It was the dynasty of king Krishna dev rai and hold a very important place in Indian History . . We visited this town in the month of Jan however the best time to visit this place as suggested by locals is the month of July-Sep. Most of the tourists destinations here are the ruins of Vijayanagar empire but the history associated with it is very interesting and shows the rich culture during those times. Stone chariot is the most famous sculpture in Hampi. Apart from this there are various temples, market, stepwells. Virupaksha temple, Vithala temple, Elephant Stables, Queens's Bath, Lotus palace, Big Shivling, Hampi bazar etc are must watch places. This side of Hampi is for travelers who wish to know the rich heritage and culture. But if your motive is to relax and chill in cafes yo need to take the boat to the other side of the river called Hippie Island. Hippie island is full of cafes serving you delicious food and environment to relax. You can hire a two wheeler from the locals and roam around few tourist spots. But make sure you bargain well before hiring one. Also, I would recommend to hire a guide while you are visiting different temples so that you can know about the historical importance of the place. Since only ruins of the temples are remaining just roaming around and clicking pictures will not fulfill your travel desires if you have time, Tungabhadra DAM is a must visit. It is at one hour drive from actual town of Hampi and is easily connected with local transport.

Hampi Heritage Trip

Transports you back to the rich culture of India. The beauty, the symmetry, the workmanship, the idea behind it . All mind boggling. To imagine that it was done in an age when there were no drills, no tractors, no excavators, no dozers . A place worth making a trip to.

A beautiful city of great sculptures and architectures

Hampi is a city of rock beauty. There are many temples, sculptures, statues and great stone carvings This is a must-visit place for everyone. This is a famous tourist attraction not only in India but also all over the world. You can find foreign tourists here throughout the year King Krishnadevaraya is mainly responsible for building these temples. The temples and the statues in them are more than 500 years old. The city has a great history associated with it, but the saddest part is that many of the monuments are damaged and statues have been either stolen or lost.

Hampi is a well known place among the foreigners and it is a beautiful old city of rocks and great architectures. You can find lot of temples, scriptures and statues dating to centuries back and the architecture of the temples is simply astounding. It is a great place to go for a solo/group tour. Virupaksha temple

One of the prime locations of Hampi, Virupaksha temple is a must visit.
Around it in a walking distance are other locations like Banni Mahakali temple, Vittala temple, Monolithic Bull. A little faraway is Monolithic Narasimha, Monolithic Shivalinga, SaasivekaaLu Ganesha, KaDalekaaLu Ganesha.
Take a boat or teppa from there, is Virupapura Gaddi where there are nice restaurants, **** fields and more temples. Nice place to relax and chill out.

Finding your inner peace amidst majestic ruins

Hampi in one word is culturally majestic, right from the ruins that highlight times gone by of the various dynasties that ruled Vijayanagar, to the myriad sights it has to offer within a short radius. A cross across the river Tungabhadra lets you in on one of the best sights with sprawling fields by the river and an enchanting temple of Lord Hanuman, while on the other side awaits many a reminders of the riches of the various dynasties that ruled southern India.
For the discerning traveler with even a remote curiosity about India's history, Hampi is a must visit, if only it for a weekend getaway from the bustling madness of nearby Bengaluru.

The stone age abode

The moment I entered Hampi I felt as if I had entered a different era. Away from the hustle of city life this place gives you a sense of peace. The huge boulders, their uneven carvings, beautiful terrains, the smell of fresh jaggery, the mystic monuments has a charm of its own and cannot be compared to anywhere else.
Hampi is well connected with buses & trains. The people there are very helpful and accommodation is cheap too. Either you want to stay in a luxury hotel or in a budget accommodation all options are open. Though for movong around the city for sightseeing I would prefer an autorickshaw ride as the lanes are pretty narrow and with auto its easier to commute. You can also hire cycles to move around places if you are keen on cycling.
Overall it is a must visit and just cannot be described in words. You need to go and visit Hampi to get a feel our ancient era.

Tantalizing Hampi

Although the trip was raining throughout, the rain bright the best out of Hampi. Filed revives and dams, lush green fields. An absolute necessity is a cap or an umbrella irrespective of the weather.
