Perfect place for a adventurous holiday.

The scenic beauty and adventure sports are the reason for visitors to come to jhallong . The river camp, the adventure spot, the chapramari forests are must visits if you are at jhallong . The local food mostly include momos and thukpas which is as usual very tasty . We went to the wild life sanctuaries and I along with some friends also went at some of the adventure spots . Try to avoid the rainy season if you are planning a visit. The spring is the best time as because the weather remains pleasant and your trip will be a memorable one.

Jhallong Overview

Jhalong is a village, which is located 99 km away from Siliguri in the Kalimpong subdivision of Darjeeling district in West Bengal. Situated on the banks of river Jaldhaka near the India-Bhutan border, this village is popular for its scenic beauty. The major attraction in the region is the Jaldhaka Hydro Electricity Project on the Jaldhaka River. This hydroelectric project is the first of its kind in India.

Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, the village is also popular among trekkers and adventure enthusiasts.

Another major attraction of the region is Bindu Dam, which operates water supply to the project and serves as a bridge for crossing over to Bhutan.
