Kodaikanal

Overall it is a good place, but prior booking of everything is recommended. If you have not visited Ooty, then you must visit Ooty first. Rest everything is pretty good, like weather, falls and some points.

Easily one of the best hill stations in India

Kodaikanal is a beautiful hill station that's a comfortable 3 hours drive from Madurai, the nearest airport. There are lots of places to see around here, and it is easy enough to spend a few full days just taking in the sights and sounds around Kodaikanal. There are restaurants and hotels to suit every palate and every budget, ranging from modest 1 star accommodations to the high end Carlton and Tamara hotels. The natural beauty around Kodai is stunning, and there are beautiful vistas everywhere, from the Satanical falls to the Berijam lake, the forest area, and numerous lookout points. We had a fantastic time walking up Coaker's walk and Bryant Park, hanging out at Astoria for its great food, and doing road trips to places around Kodai. There is also a tradition of home-made chocolates in Kodai that are varied and fun to sample. The wildlife - especially birds and flora - around the town are quite extensive, unique and beautiful. The town has a certain sleepy charm to it that you best experience by walking around. The weather is unpredictable, so best to carry an umbrella. If you're a photographer expect to spend a lot of time taking in the gorgeous views and trying things out - Kodai is fantastic for stuff like this.

Nice ambience and excellent weather

Not many places to visit. Ideal for just chilling out with family. Great resort was great. Fabulous service and good food. The road to resort was full of potholes and badly maintained. Please avoid April - May as the huge number of visitors make the place dirty and traffic chaos are the norm

Deluxe double room

It was a nice hotel . And its good location I feel its bit costly to compare other hotel deluxe double rooms. Room size also compact and feel small. No room heater or AC available. Better have to take good update with hotel with all the fecilities. Dinner is medium quality and breakfast is good

Fine

Overall experience is fine. Very much hilly terrain. No so neat and clean hill station. Cool place with occasional rain. Except silver cascade fall none of the fails have water. Boating in the lake is nice. Home made Chocolate shops are there in every nook and corner.

Munnavar lake with good natural site seeing

Kodaikanal is having good climate and it is suitable as alternate place during summer days. Local lake cycling & boating & mannavar lake is a must visit place. Lots of hotels near diagonal bus stand especially for veg & non-veg. Staying at resort will give ample time to play indoor games, ayurvedic massage, etc.

Good place

Good place for 2 days trip.

Kodaikanal lake - boating and cycling are available. Its awesome to ride cycle on a greenish road with chat items. Awesome place to spend with your beloved one.

coakers walk - 7 to 8 mins walk. Nice view points like hills, farms. Ready photos are available to make it more memorable.

shooting point - Must seen pace. Many songs were shooted here. Good place to take photos to get uploaded in social media.

Guna cave - A Tamil movie 'Guna' acted by Maestro Kamal Haasan was shot here.

Chettiar park - Well maintained. it's better than Bryant's park in both cost wise and scenery wise.

kurinji aandavar temple - The great lord Murugan temple in Kodaikanal walkable distance from Chettiar park. Pls visit there and make your mind place.

vatakanal falls - another fine place to spend with your family. But Check with local people for water availability before going there. But sometimes mist will cover the view points and it's a great disappointment.

Perfect Destination for nature lovers

The family has visited during off season. Hill area had tolerable cold. During our site visits, due to heavy fog, we could not see valley's, landscape sceneray etc .. Kodai lake, Cloakers Walk is good. Parks are not maintained well. There was no greeery nor flowers in the park. Totally waster of entry fees. There is ample scope for developing greenary in and around Munnavar lake to make it really Switzerland. However, we could not see greenery. Local authorities are charging entry fees at every distination but no efforts seems to have put in to maintain the tourist places worth enjoying. Those who have Jonell sickness will have difficult time to travel 56 kms of Ghat section. Totally, Kodaikanal is worth visiting at least one in a life.
