The Colorful Mullik Ghat Flower Market, Kolkata

Near the southeast end of Howrah Bridge, the flower market is colourful virtually 24 hours a day. This market had a red, yellow and orange sea of marigolds. It’s a market like no other and the photographs speak for themselves.

HolidayIQ Traveller Thulaseedharan Achary shares, "I visited Kolkata during October 2013. Among the attractions, the gigantic flower market under Howrah bridge attracted me a lot. It was a wonderful flower market with an approximate 500 m of circular area equipped with flowers and buds. Flowers in various stages, fully blossomed, semi blossomed and buds were arranged. Various types of flowers of India, especially rare ones from Himalayas were available there which were very beautiful and charming and the merchants were ready for sales. I recommend everyone to visit this paradise during visit to Kolkata.

It was nice and very beautiful in staying, it's really a feel at home, we enjoyed the Panda hopping of Goddess Kali for which Barasat is famous for, nice decorations with 'diyas', candles and lights and an enjoyable night life . . Food and Shopping: There we found large market place and many shopping malls where one can get the local handy crafts products to world class branded articles and garments too . Highlight of the trip: An enjoyable night out during Diwali (Kalipuja I. E. Worshiping of Mother Kali)
