A town above the clouds

Gaze at the cloud clapped mountains, soak yourself into the nirvana by the waterfall and see it transform into a brook cutting across the meadows. Loose your way among the misty hill of Lonavala placed above 6000ft this place boasts Of cozy cafes serving lipsticking food. This part of western ghat comes alive by the monsoons and is a ideal to spend a day away from everyday. Easily accessible by train or bus from the nearest cities the main attraction of this place is it's hill waterfall and lakes. You may hire an auto who will take you all the points like lions point, shooting point, bhaushi dam, Lonavala lake. The Lonavala lake is build 120 years ago acts as the reservoir for the power plant nearby. Don't forget to buy chikki which is the speciality of that place.

Overall its OK but hotel needs improvements.

Tungar lake & upper hill visit is must, you can see sunset from this hill. Bhushi dam is crowded in monsoon but you can plan visit. Overflowing water is amazing scene. Sunset point at old khandla is a good spoy for selfies. Tata garden and wax museums are added attractions. 2d /1 and is ideal stay at this place.

Good destination

Amazing experience in Lonavala trip . . Depending on the destination you visited, share your experience on the kind of activities you did there. If its a beach place, did you try para sailing or water rides and if you visited a wildlife sanctuary, how was the safari? Tell us if you just relaxed and did nothing or indulged in some trekking, boating, nature walks or bird watching!

Good Hill Station for Relaxing

Lonavala has its quiet spots and the tourist bustling spots as well . Hotels and resorts available for all budgets. Nice mild climate and fun in rains when water falls flow all over the hills. A sister city Khandala is lot quieter and is also good destination.

Family and me to year-end trip to Lonavala

Wax museum the first and the best experience with my family. It is amazing and so realistic. Second zurasick park which has started half way.
Lohagad was my first claim after long years which is enjoyed by family with me too. Lake but no boating. Overall experience in this season was top of the world.

Wonderful hill station

Best time to visit Lonavala is monsoon. Dams and water falls are main tourist attraction of that place during rainy season. Apart from that wax museums are place to visit. Best place to be away from routine and drench in peace and enjoy luxury of nature.

Amazing hill station

Lonavala though not so vast is a beautiful hill station. Best time to travel there is MONSOON. If you want break from monotonous routine and relax in lap of nature it's a must visit at least once in a year. Climate is moderate to enjoy.

Duo on tour !!

There is lot more to see in Lonavala than Tiger's point. The place has immensely beautiful view points with an unpredictable climate. One moment it is cozy other moment its blurring fog!
For people travelling from their own vehicle I would suggest go ahead of **** point and see more of Lonavala by simply following the perfect road.

Best hillstation in Maharashtra, great weather and places. Must visit destination.

Lonavla Lake is surrounded by natural scenery, about 1. 6 km from the town.
Tiger's Leap also known as Tiger's Point is a cliff-top with a sheer drop of over 650 m, giving an extensive view. Buses are available up to INS Shivaji and the remaining distance of about 1. 6 km has to be covered on foot.
Karla caves, located near Lonavla, is a complex of cave shrines built by Buddhist monks around 3rd to 2nd century be. C. A famous temple of Goddess Ekvira Devi is also present here.
A waterfall near the dam is a popular spot between Lonavla and I. And. S. Shivaji. Buses running on the I. Shivaji Road stop here.
Scenic point midway between Bhushi Dam and Aamby Valley.
