Hijacked to chikan cloths shopping
Nice city with both modern (Ambedkar park) and ancient structures (Imambaras). I went there to attend a conference at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan. Huge place with many auditoriums. Lucknow boasts of another auditorium also . Let me tell you in the beginning itself, Lucknow has uber and ola. They were courteous and picked up my friend in another hotel also. But for these, if you take a taxi or auto or cycle rickshaw - not only that you need to bargain for rates, but also beware of being hijacked to Sewa chikan shops selling cloths . There are another type of share autos who don't hijack you - supposed to be 4 seater - but comfortable only for 2 persons . Lucknow biryani is tasty and flavored - but little bland. Kebabs, chats and aloo tikki are all over tasty and hot. The third day my stomach was upset . Their winter special mutka malai is just cream - nothing special about it except mud disposable tumbler is environmental friendly . But they make ceremoniously tea with ginger and served in mud tumblers for RS. 15 which is good for this winter season . One should not miss entering bhool bhulaiyaa and bouli with a guide. It is a special experience . January- february, carry all woolens. I had to wear thermal and socks at night also since hotel rooms are not heated.

Excellent. Weather in September was moderate. Need AC Car. Food and Shopping: Beware of the Local Driver taking you to a Shop of his choice for Lucknow Chikaan Shopping - they all get commissions. Highlight of the trip: Namisharya and Ayodhya . Don't miss the Samosas at Ram Misthan Shop in Barabanki on way to Ayodhya about 40km out of Lucknow - 1 km detour. Well worth it.

Good non veg food, but not a tourist destination
We hit all the famous food joints, and the food was tasty for sure. But I wouldn't travel to Lucknow for pleasure as there is not anything special there to visit. The Agra Lucknow expressway is a great road, but there are no services available on the expressway (bathrooms, restaurants, gas stations, etc) I went to Lucknow on some official business, but would not visit otherwise.
Having many galleries situated inside the Zoo
One can enjoy its architecture
Beautiful River Front Close To Ambedkar Park.
