Deciduous jungles of terminalia, Sal, Teak and Bamboo with a dense leopard and sloth bear population, the Barnawapara wildlife sanctuary in Chhattisgarh was home to the Baiga tribe. These hardy people find happiness and dignity even through the toughest of times. A constant search of dignity and pride associated with land, forest and community life is what characterizes the Baigas. Brewing Mahua is as much part of their culture as is their stress on family life.
KK Sahu: As my title suggests it is an untapped tourist destination ready to explode in tourist map of India if developed and nurtured well enough. Really if you want see natural beauty up-close enough within the climes of virgin tribal lands hitherto untapped by tourists and not developed & promoted by the government.
