Reasons to go to Manali

HolidayIQ Traveller Kamal Pansari from Mumbai shares, “Solang valley in on of the good attractions in manali. During snow time solang vally fully covered with snow. To visit solang valley at least 2-3 hrs is minimum required. Solang valley is hardly 1hr away from manali city. In solang valley all snow related games are available like Snow bike, ski, paragliding etc. Everyone must try for paragliding. That gives an awesome feeling while you are in the air. Eagle view of valley is awesome. Paragliding cost is bit high but bargain with them to reduce cost. They can reduce to 1000-1500 rs. Rope way is also there to go to the top. Top valley has the high quantity of ice and gives nice feeling and look. Top is very good for taking memorable pics. Food stalls are available there where you can get many food items to eat. Overall it's a good place to visit.”

2Hampta Pass Trek
Hampta Pass Trek

Winnie : Although many describe Hampta Pass as 'Easy to Moderate', it is more skewed towards moderate. The trek is for 5-6 days that passes through different terrains at various levels of difficulty.I will not say that all the days on the trek are hard and it is hard to survive, but it is the most difficult on the day you are crossing the actual Hampta Pass.

3Explore your adventurous side at Manali
Explore your adventurous side at Manali

Manali is one place which offers you an exciting adventurous holiday along with spectacular natural beauty. It also has a unique cultural aspect that is a welcome addition to your trip.

The Solang Valley is 12 km north of Manali, on the banks of the Beas River. It's a beautiful lush green valley with the backdrop of snow covered Himalayan peaks.  Mayuri Kubal tells HolidayIQ: "The snow clad mountains, the chilled breeze and the snow sports grab one's attention."

A 50 km drive from Manali, brings you to the legendary Rohtang Pass which is "almost seems like a gate to Narnia, because the worlds on either side of it are completely different. The green, almost soft valley of Kullu suddenly becomes the angry, arid and brown Lahaul and Spiti." says HolidayIQ reviewer Madhuri.

How to get there:

By air: The most convenient way to reach Manali by flight is to land at the well connected Kulu Airport and then hire a taxi or board a bus to travel the remaining 50 km by road.

By train: The best way to get to Manali by train is to take a train to Chandigarh Junction, which is well connected to the entire country and cover the remaining 170 km by road

By road: Manali is on the National Highway 3, well connected to the rest of the country via National Highway 44.

The weather was freezing in the night and mornings and the afternoons were very pleasant. We visited in November 6 till 13. But in spite of the cold, there was no shivering. Having a nice cup of tea in the snow in solang valley was more than amazing . . Food and Shopping: The food in Michal is not very spicy. The food in hotels were good but non vegetarian food were not so tasty. When you are in mall roads, try and have **** bit road side food and avoid eating in fancy restaurants. The hot milk and moong Dal halwa in mall road Manali were heavenly. And the chaat. Yum . Highlight of the trip: The view of the snow capped mountains from our hotel in Manali, gezzelig inn vardhan hill. We were truly enchanted. Even today when I feel s little down, I try and remember those majestic himalayan ranges and the long curvy roads with a nice roof of the strong Himalayas above all the time, and I feel energetic and fresh. No wonder the Himalayas are sooo pure.
