Manali is a popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of 1,950 meters, in the Himalayan Mountains, near the northern end of Kullu Valley. Manali experiences an average maximum temperature of 16°C and an average minimum of 3° Celsius.

Summer in Manali begins towards the end of March and extends up to July. The maximum temperature recorded during the summer in Manali is 24° Celsius. The temperature drops down during nights to reach 14° Celsius. Light woollen clothes and cotton clothes are hence advisable while planning a trip to Manali during summer.

Monsoon in Manali starts from July is extended till the end of September. Travelling through Manali during monsoon can be a bit difficult. Monsoon is also the time for trekking in Manali. Trekking season starts from first week of July till the end of August.

Winter is extremely chilly in Manali. The average maximum temperature during winter is 2° Celsius. Winter starts from the month of October and is extended till the end of February. Whole Manali will be snow bound during winter. Heavy woollen clothes should be carried while travelling to Manali during winter to escape from the biting cold weather.

The best season to visit Manali is summer. Winter season also attracts tourists who are keen to visit snow capped mountains.
