Blend of cultural and modern culture

We visited The Vinaana, mandawa in April 2014 for 2N 3D. They provided us with detailed guidance on route to the Haveli from Gurgaon/Delhi, which was quite useful. When you cross mandawa the next 10 km stretch to Ajitgarh Churi take you through true village with narrow roads to the Haveli . At the entrance there is vintage car with Vivaana written on its number plate. Once you enter the Haveli they will welcome you with dhol and maala I. E. In proper traditional style. The Haveli is blend of cultural and modern style. We stayed at royal suite. It was a two floor room with open washroom on the first floor. Despite being an open washroom privacy of certain section is ensured. Throughout the Haveli, all walls are painted which gives royal feeling. I believe all the rooms are differently designed too . Apart from heritage feeling via rooms, the swimming pool, dining area, Reading room, lawn sit out all give you the modern feeling. Bar is designed keeping with proper balance of cultural and modern touch. Carvings, paintings and engraves are quite good. It's a treat for those who are interested in photography. At night one can enjoy local talents like puppet show, local dance and folk music . . We went for early morning village walk to admire dancing peacocks, feel the village breeze and calmness of village. Subsequently went for slow camel ride to see sunrise. The path was very calm and view was mesmerizing. The village around the Haveli is a typical Indian / Rajasthani village. So, it might offer some novelty for foreigners but not so much for Indians. During our stay there were many foreign guests. Menu for food was designed according to taste of all the guests. Wished there was more of traditional Rajasthani food to complete the traditional feeling. Staff were cordial and courteous throughout . Nearby places to visit are famous salasar temple, fort (which we visit) and nawalgarh museum. Overall, a great place for a weekend, nicely designed and comfortable

Enlightening Spiritual Experience

If you are looking for a one day quick getaway from New Delhi then Mandawa is the right place for you to be at. It has temples, castles and above all it has tasty lip smacking food. We went with family and friends and we had a chance to see Bollywood movie stars during our stay too. So that was an added bonus at our stay at the place.
