Good place with good people, natural beauty of snow clad mountains all around are fascinating. Not too much costly. Good system of traffic control on the way from McLeodganj to Bhagsunag. The main chaurasta was crowded but with good bakery etc. Products shops which are neat & clean. It was a good trip for three days in which we travelled to Dharamshala also.

Stay in McLeodganj

It's a very good place to have an adventurous and peaceful experience. One can find both the things at the same place. It is also a good place for shopping clothes and some Tibbetian goods. One can find lot of varieties of foods here. There are a number of cafes which are here to serve people.

Loved it

Fell in love with McLeodganj. It was the most peaceful place. Except the hotel everything was great and fun. I would recommend everyone to visit there once atleast You can spend great time there since it is not too busy like Manali and Shimla You all will love it.

An average place, narrow roads, has the Dalai Lama monastery in this place. Been a tourist and religious destination has lots of hotel. Many of them like small time hotels do not expect 5 star service. Would suggest to go with reviews. Also look for the rooms facing mountains Has a very old Shiv temple known as Bhagsunag, I suggest to visit this place, very peaceful. Next to the temple there is a small pond which gets water from the ice clad mountain tops, super refreshing, you can fill the water in bottles for which there is a pipe provided On the way to the temple there are local shops which you can buy some local stuff but you need to bargain a lot There are some more points for sightseeing but suggest you hire a local cab for the same - again bargain !! Include the Monastery where his highness Dalai Lama stays. You should be able to spend more than an hour here. There is one Dal Lake here but its quite dirty so should be out of your list of visit, suggest one more point less than half a km ahead of Dal lake from where you can view the ice clad mountains, its quite an awesome view. The local market has lot of shops run by Tibetan people, the prices are exorbitant (more than what you find in hill stations) and as always the attention is given to foreigners. The attitude of the sales guys is horrible, suggest you pick from the ones run by Indians. Overall I felt the stay very average but cannot demand much given the geographical location. One thing for sure its best to stay in Mcleod Ganj than Dharmshala.

Nothing special at McLeodganj itself

We were a group of 12 boys going for the Triund trek. We booked Hotel Highland nearby the taxi stand. Great hotel to book. There is not much to do or look at in the main city itself. It's a too small area. But yes the weather is quite pleasant. If you visit this city, do go for the Triund trek as well.

It's not up to to expectations

Place is good but have less main points to cover. Roads and parking problem. Every time ask 100 rs fir pickup or drop. Manali and Shimla is far better. It's not worth to drive 550 kms. Local guys tried to teach driving lessons and asked why you come here with a big car if you don't know. Such comment are common. They are not good in behaviour. I would suggest to drive Manali than this.

Must go in winters at the time of snowfall

Camping at Triund trek is awesome and you must carry water bottles and eatables from McLeodganj as up there the price becomes twice and 1 bottle of alcohol is allowed and must go to bhagsunag waterfall.

The Mesmerizing McLeodganj

Peaceful dhauladhar range, amazeful trekking experience for the beginners, enchanting Budhist prayers surrounded by the purest air around, mostly known for trekking to peak, Naddi, best place to freshen up you mind and soul in the waterfall of Bhagsu nag Tample, need 3-4 days to explore every inch of this spot, mostly will fin travelers around the world, best getaway from Delhi. But if you plan for trekking take your food with yourself as food at the camps are costly and you are out of options. And the most favourite and special part of the trekking is that you meet these mountain Dogs(Guides) who are always with you and help you show the way, and even you are in trouble these wonderful creatures are always there for your help. So it's once in a lifetime must vist destination

Weekend trip to unwind it's a nice place to be at. The waterfall is a good distance away but walkable. Dalai lama temple is few minutes walk from any part of the city, so take your time and relax there. Hire a cab for rest of the locations.
Try not to miss the sun rise.
A good place to be at to unwind from the hectic city life and enjoy. Family and couples will for sure enjoy.
