Mundra a blend of corporate hub & old city

When I reached mundra its very small town I found a good simple budget hotel Hari Om Residency. Mundra has Asia's largest sea port and big manufacturing SEZ. It has traditional Bandhni cloth handicraft also very famous. I bought kutchi Bandhni dress material for my wife and for mom a kutchi shawl from shop "Kutch Kanak" its near to hotel Hari Om Residency. They are on Facebook also Kutch kanak. Very reasonable. I was on very happy mundra is simple small town with blend of morden business hub and traditional handicraft business hub .

Overy all experience for Kutch was good mundra, mandvi, Bhuj and narayan sarovar and matana madh visited by me good one time go in life place. But too far from Ahmedabad around 350 km from Ahmedabad. 280 km from Rajkot. Bhuj is only airport there. In mundra I have stayed in hotel hari om residency very nice simple hotel non a. C double bed room only 400 rs. With t. V and attach Bath. Mandvi is 50 km from mundra.

Mundra Overview

Mundra is a census town situated in the Kutch District of Gujarat. It is most popularly known for the Mundra Port, which is the largest private port in India. This town is located 50 km from the town of Anjar, which is one of the major towns and a commercial hub of the Kutch District. The Oswal Street in the town is its oldest one.

The main occupation of this town is agriculture and horticulture of Kharek and Chikoo, along with farming and wage labour. Mundra is also known for being the only place in Gujarat, which wasn’t affected by the January 2001 earthquake.

The Mundra Port is the main source of income of this town and has led to it being declared as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This port lies 60 km west of Gandhidham and its location in the region is strategic with regard to global trade. It also provides a water route to and from states like Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu-Kashmir. The Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT) of this port is said to be one of the most technologically advanced port facilities in the India.

Mundra is also close to popular tourist destinations like Gandhidham, Kandla, Bhuj and Mandvi. Gandhidham is famous for its attractions like Bhardeshwar and Akshardham Temple, while Bhuj is known for the Kutch Desert Wildlife Sanctuary, Narayan Sarovar Sanctuary, Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary and Kutch Bustard Sanctuary.

The nearest railway station to Mundra is Gandhidham Junction, situated at a distance of 26.3 km from it. It is also accessible via airways through the Kandla Airport, which is situated at a distance of 48 km from it.

The best time to visit these places is between the months of October and February.
