A day trip to Mysore from Bangalore
Mysore is a small city of palaces. Those who like exploring heritage, old bazaars and nature should definitely visit Mysore. It gives you this cozy town vibe which you would definitely love . . Since it was only a day trip, I couldn't explore all the palaces. But I managed to get a good look at the Ambavilas Palace more commonly known as the Mysore Palace. The palace and other monuments around it are spread over good 72 acres. It took me 3 hours to explore them and still I wasn't bored. It's totally worth spending around 4-5 hours in the palace to get a good look at all the paintings and architecture. Download the Pinakin app and listen to the audio tour guide to get a better experience otherwise you would probably get lost in the palace or its grounds not knowing where to begin. The devraja market is an old big bazaar near the Mysore Palace which sells spices, flowers, sweets, and what not. Just outside the Devraja market, you will find many shops selling the famous Mysore Pak.

Perfect destination for a family vacation
Enjoyed the vacation. We had a pleasant stay @ Regenta Central Herald, with good restaurants around. Especially, the weather was very good, should visit during June - Aug. Sightseeing places like Zoo, Maharaja palace, Chamundeswari temple, Brindavan Gardens will make your vacation whole and complete The City is very clean. Veg food with good quality is available in Kamath, Sidhartha, etc. We had the best vacation so far.

Tour of Mysore
A clean city of historic interest. The climate is also moderate. A holiday of three days is enough to enjoy the city fully as there is nothing much to see. The city can be used as a halting station while travelling from Bangalore to Ooty. A good travel agent should be chosen for local sightseeing, otherwise the drivers (especially for rented small cars) might pose some problem and thereby spoil the tour, as happened in my case.

Mysore Palace is a must place to visit, both at night (to see the lighting) and daytime (visit inside the Palace). Vrindavan garden is waste of time and money. It takes almost an hour to reach from Mysore city. You can see only marigold flowers all over the place. At the same time it's a lot crowded . . For religious people, Chamundeshwari Temple in Chamundi hill is a place to visit Do little survey before doing shopping, must visit the authentic shops to buy products. Generally the cab driver takes you to a shops and restaurants from where they get commission. I have seen the same products have a vast range of prices in different shops.
