Religious place which is also famous for desert camps

This was our second day in Jodhpur and we decided to start it the religious way. Off we went to sachiya Mata temple in osian village who is our kuldevi. The place is 60 kms away from Jodhpur and the roads are good for a pleasant drive. We hired a cab and went to the temple which was luckily empty. While There were too many stairs to be climbed to reach the temple, the stairs had beautifully carved arches to make the ascent exciting. The temple is an old classic and is very peaceful. No photography allowed inside. Sachiya mata, also referred to as osian is the mother goddess of people from many regions of the country. (Mostly is known to be origin of Oswald jains) This place is frequented by foreigners too due to its architectural bliss. Food and stay options are there but limited so plan your travel accordingly.
Alternative plan : post visiting the temple you could also plan to stay back in the desert camps of osian village. They offer events like camel safari, folk dance, bonfire at night, jeep safari. We didn't opt for it since we didn't have that much time.

Divine place

The town of Osian is located approximately 60 Km from Jodhpur and easily accessible from there. Jodhpur is well connected to all the major cities of the country through Air, Road and Railways. Osian is one of the most important Jain pilgrimage for the Oswal Jain community. The Mahavira Temple of 783 AD is the most ancient testimony in the region.

There are several shrines/ temples in the town - all of them are renowned for artwork and carvings on the elegant sculptures. These temples, which include the Sachiya Mata Temple and Jain Temple, are built using red sandstone.

The Sachiya Mata Temple is easily one of the best places I've ever been to. It is said that "Oswal Jain Community" is originated at this place. Being a Oswal Jain, visiting this place was a thrilling experience. Temple of Sachiya Mata is spectacular. Calm, serene, clean and has great architecture.

The moment you step into the temple, you will forget all the worries and feel the aura of temple. Darshan of Mataji is an overwhelming experience.
