Best Time to Visit Rourkela

The best time to visit Rourkela is from October to December and then again from February to March. This is a city located around the north-western border of Orissa and is surrounded by a range of hills. Rourkela is home to one of the largest steel plants of Steel Authority of India Limited.

Summers in Rourkela

The summer season of Rourkela begins in March and goes on till June. During this time of year, the temperatures range from 21° C to 37° C. The period from the middle of May to the end of June is the hottest period.

Temples religious tourists should visit are Santoshi Ma Temple, Ram Daravar and Bruhat Sivalinga Temple. At the centre of the city, stands a 75 ft tall statue of Hanuman which was designed by Sri Laxmana Swami. Maa Vaishno Devi Temple with deities such as Goddess Kali, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshami is located on top of a hill and is counted among the most important temples in the region. Mandira Dam, built across Sankha River and located only 25 km away from Rourkela, is a must-visit for tourists who love to connect with nature. People can enjoy boating and the greenery of this region.
