Saputara is a popular hill destination situated in Dang district in the southern part of Gujarat state of India, near Maharashtra border. It is located in the Dang forests on the Sahyadri range at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level.  
Saputara enjoys a cool and pleasant climate throughout the year. The average maximum temperature that has been recorded is 30.4°Celsius and the minimum is 10° Celsius.

March to June is summer time in Saputara. The climate remains comfortable even during peak summer. The maximum temperature recorded during summer in Saputara is 32° Celsius and the minimum is 25° Celsius. The salubrious winds make the climate of the place cosy during summer.

Monsoon in Saputara begins from mid-June and it stays through late October. The maximum temperature that has been recorded during monsoon in Saputara is 27° Celsius and the minimum is 20° Celsius. Cool winds enhance the chilliness of the monsoon. Light woollen clothes are required during this season. Outdoor trips can become difficult due to heavy rains. Rain coats are also required while planning a trip to Saputara during monsoon.

Winter in Saputara begins from November and it is extended till late February. These are the coldest months in Saputara. The maximum temperature that has been recorded during day time in winter is 20° Celsius. Winter nights are crispy cold with a minimum temperature of 9.8° Celsius. A trip to Saputara during winter requires heavy woollen clothes to escape from the chilly weather. The fresh yet cold climate makes winter ideal for sightseeing and outdoor trips.

Saputara is a hill resort that experiences heavy traffic of tourists all through the year. But the best season to visit Saputara is mid-November to March.
