**positivity** **Aree God God*** **Mundu love**

Lovely land of heaven covered with mighty mist surrounded all green with no human to live.
Stands there holding waters, with hills to guard it, flowing down the stream when fill and cherished.
Reaching this place was the most Haunted thing, no proper roads in the midst of fierce forest there it lies calm, steady, binding for no one to see. The bends to reach there got us more excited to see it. It's a mist visit place if you are tired of swinging around polluted cities.
Important note: there is no facility of food or water or shelter available on the route, bad roads(can be said no roads), you don't get Mobile signals and main not many loacls know the route so better download the route over the Google map.

A small town with pretty good number of industries

The town is pretty good when considered about climate.
There is an elephant camp 'Sakrebail' wherein, you get to see lot of elephants.
There is another zoo about 15kms from city, pretty well maintained.
Religious places like Sringeri and Horanadu comes under this district and are within radius of 125kms.

We gone Shimoga for a pleasure trip. Visited agumbe, jog falls, lion and tiger safari, elephant safari, kemmanagundi, annapurna temple etc.
Actually we expect agumbe was a good climate and lot of rain, but unfortunately it was too hot and there was no rain.
Jog falls also off season on may.
I will suggest everybody to visit kemmanagundi. It was nice experience. So cool thr. Also lion and tiger safari was good.

Center for several pilgrim places

Shimoga is about 275 kms from Bangalore. It has several lodges to stay, which are quite good. Shimoga is central place for several pilgrim places which are quite popular. It has more than dozen tourists places.
Food is available in plenty as it has several hotels and eateries.
It is the district head quarters.

Shimoga, the city is developing. Underground walking tunnels and cleanliness are the most important factors which can be enjoyed over here. Apart from that, Tyavarekoppa lion safari and Sakrebayalu elephant camp are the nearest places to visit which are hardly 15kms.

Connecting city for many destinations

Shimoga is a booming city which is growing rapidly. It's a booming place for business. The growth here is tremendous over the past few years. There is nothing much to see in Shimoga but it acts as a central point to many other tourists destinations. Shimoga is a stop over point for people visiting the famous Jog falls which is only about 100 km from here. Agumbe, Tunga bhadra backwaters, Belur, Udupi, Chikmagalur, hampi, hospet and many more tourist destinations are just couple of hours drive from here.

All places are connected really well by road and K.S.R.T.C buses have good connectivity.

Shimoga is exciting

Most of the tourist places are between 50-110 kms away from Shimoga bus terminus. When I went this time to Shimoga I managed to go only to Jog Falls and the Lion & tiger Safari.
But I would suggest folks to plan for the Bird sanctuary that are near by like gudavi, Mangadde etc which are 120 kms away from Shimoga. If you trip is not planned correctly you may end up missing many things.
There are lot of ancient temples for folks who are interested in architecture (I managed to go to Uma Maheswari Temple on the way back to Shimoga from jog falls) Its nearly 200 years old
For adventurers plan for agumbe rainforest.
I would suggest to keep the lion and tiger safari as last option as its not worth spending much time there

Awesome place to spend your winter with good sightseeing

The climate is the best part of this travel along with cozy hotels. Winter is the perfect time for journey with good views of fog covered hill tops during mornings. Anyone with love for nature will definitely visit this place which is around 200km from Bangalore with good availibility of bus sevices from Bangalore. I visited resorts, rivers and hills during the stay for a period of 20 days . . Benne dose is a must have food in these places along with Rava Idli. The place is less developed hence the places such as malls are none but there are many number of small eateries and theatres called tents to entertain . Table tennis and basketball were provided at the resort which was very close to the river. Hill climbing used to be the activity during mornings . I would recommend you to take lots of sweaters as the temperature will be 15 derees. The Bangalore Shivamogga expressway is the best route to take.
