The unearthed temples

The place is called Talakad and it around 3hrs drive from. Tumkur, passing through Kunigal, Maddur and finally Mallavali. From there it is another 30 minutes drive through beautiful country side . . All along you will only see temples but wait that is not the place. As soon as I reached the place, I was actually disappointed. First of all, it was not what actually supposed to be. Out of the many temples presumed submerged in sand, only 5 have been unearthed and there is no proper signboard telling the visitors something about these temple's. One have to walk around to know. I saw one signboard ( written in Kannada). The most fascinating part is the whole area is on sand. Unbelievable. The other thing which surprised me is that these monuments are heritage and prayers are being conducted in each of the temples and some are even are undergoing restoration. No proper control. Although felt quite disappointed I wanted to fulfill my purpose of going there and left after 3 hrs.

Banks of Cauvery river drives you crazy!

It is nearly 120km from Bengaluru and we were 6 on 3 bikes to unleash bangalore- Mysore highway at 7am and reached there by 10am. We visited 3 temples out of 5 hence the name PANCHA LINGA in Talkad which is famous for, then moved to banks of river Cauvery and could see mob crowd since it was Sunday and came back near temple and had nice FULL MEALS for rs50 /- near temple entrance and again went back enjoy Jacuzzi in river and stayed for over an hour and moved to nearby shivanasamudhra but due to re construction of bridge for its extension we couldn't make it so left to Bengaluru back by 7.
