Spiritual head office
Varanasi looks like spiritual head quarters of India. Ganges seems to have full proud rebating in Ganges is really giving pleasure and happiness to mind. We have experienced Dasaswamedh Ghat and Kasi viswanath Temple and Triveni sangamam (Varuna River meets Ganges). Samadhi of Satcha Baba/Katcha Baba is not known to many. Very calm and quiet place.

Kashi AKA Banaras AKA Varanasi is a must see place
Try to stay in hotels located in the Cantt area and visit Ghats or other places by autos or local rikshaws only. Eat only fried-stuff to make sure all the infections are deprived too !!

According to Hindu mythology, Varanasi was founded by Shiva, one of three principal deities along with Brahma and Vishnu. During a fight between Brahma and Shiva, one of Brahma's five heads was torn off by Shiva. As was the custom, the victor carried the slain adversary's head in his hand and let it hang down from his hand as an act of ignominy, and a sign of his own bravery. A bridle was also put into the mouth. Shiva thus dishonored Brahma's head, and kept it with him at all times. When he came to the city of Varanasi in this state, the hanging head of Brahma dropped from Shiva's hand and disappeared in the ground. Varanasi is therefore considered an extremely holy site.

Nice place to visit for religious relaxation and experience of many religion, ie hindu, budhhism, jainism. A good place for higher education as one of the oldest and renowned university is there, having a nice campus with dedicated faculty. Pilgrim places are also very attractive and clean.

Once known as Benares or Banaras and Kashi, is a historical city in northern India. The city is sacred to Hindus and Jains and also one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with settlements dating back to the 11th century BC. Many Hindus believe that dying in Varanasi brings salvation/nirvana and so they make the trip to the city when they realize that they are close to death. For some, the culture shock of the burning corpses in plain view can be a bit overwhelming. However, the scene of pilgrims doing their devotions in the River Ganga at sunrise set against the backdrop of the centuries old temples is probably one of the most impressive sights in the world The city can be scorching hot in the summer months so, if possible, time your visit to fall between October and March, and bring something warm to wear for chilly days and nights.
