Excellent hotel

It is a wonderful time for me to visit the City Grand hotel. It's awesome. The appearance was cool. The food was quite delicious. Ignoring the fact of location, the service was great. Their welcome was also very nice. I felt very happy with the neatness and service for the customers like us. Everything was excellent, very friendly stuff, very clean, great food bit price but I have really enjoyed it. Wonderful staff.

Slice of Telangana Life

A quick driveway from Hyderabad into Warangal district will take you to lakes, old temples, forts and water falls of Warangal and neighborhood.
While you leave the fort and temple town of Warangal and head towards lakes of Laknavaram or Ramappa, you can enjoy the true Telangana style food in the small places along the highway. Kayak the Laknavaram lake or take a dip at Bogatha waterfalls or walk around the Ramappa Temple and 1000 pillar temple admiring the works of hands that chiseled the temple pillars and roofs. The land of the Kakatiya kings has something for all to be enthralled.

A good place to live in

Warangal is a very good place with a mixture of city centre, tourist attraction, professional centre. Above these all, the tri-cities have a beautiful and glorious shine in their heart at every moment of time. One can have a best time over here and spend leisurely and comfortably. This is a well developed area with latest equipped facilities.

Ekasila Nagaram- On Stone City

Warangal is a district of a newly formed State Telangana, which was formed on 02 Jun 2014, is situated in the Northern region of the State and about 150 Kms from the state Capital Hyderabad. It is surrounded by District Karimnagar in North, Khammam in the East and North-East, Nalgonda in the Southwest and Medak district in the West. Having an area about 12, 846 Sq Kms and population about 33, 00, 000 out of this 25% population is Urban. Hanamkonda and Kazipet are the major fashionable townships of Warangal as Warangal is the Headquarter and Parkal, Mahabubabad, Jangaon, Narsampet, Thorrur, and Bhupalpally are major parts of the district. Greater Municipal Corporation of Warangal is playing a significant role towards beautifying the city and with a modern look, as it has 58 wards. It has many squares and I liked very much the Rani Rudrama square, avenues are good and has many attractive markets.

Its ancient name is Orugallu means One-Stone and was also known as Ekasila Nagaram. It was the Capital of the Kakatiya Kingdom ruled by Kakatiya Dynasty during 12th-14th century. The Kakatiyas left many monuments, including an impressive fortress, four massive stone gateways, the Swayambhu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the Ramappa temple situated near Ramappa Lake. As their distinguishing abilities about culture and administration is praised by Marco Polo, who was a famous traveller. It was ruled by many renowned rulers included Ganapathi Deva, Prathapa Rudra, and Rani Rudrama Devi, this kingdom was lost to Bahmanis in 1370 AD and later to Asaf Jahi's. One may still feel the Kakatiyas in whole Warangal. Many prehistoric sites are discovered by the Archaeological Department, such as rock paintings, and many signs of the New Stone Age along the Godavari River.

Warangal is well known for granite Quarries especially for black and brown, and is a grand producer of rice, chilli, peppers, cotton and tobacco, so economy depends and it also have many lakes and canals for irrigation to boost the economy, as in the past foreign trade was significant. Now many handicrafts industries are run by the various societies in the rural areas. Many minor and major industries viz. Rice Mills, Oil mills, small scale industries, Beedi Factories, AJ. Textile Mill, has made Warangal the second most important and biggest city in Telangana region next to Hyderabad.

It has a good road connectivity by NH-163 Buses of state transport and private operators connecting to the neighbouring states and has two rail junctions Warangal and Kazipet, through which it is connected to almost every part of the Nation and it has a small Air Strip used by the Police and for domestic and International air connectivity, Airport is situated in Hyderabad about 150 Kms by Road.

It has the climate Tropical wet and dry and have many forests.

It has 52 Administrative divisions and main Headquarter is Warangal. It has many famous institutions such as National Institute of Technology, Kakatiya University, Kakatiya Institute Of Technology And Science, Kakatiya Medical College etc. , over all Kakatiyas influence in the life of Warangal people is remarkable.

It has many tourists attractions such as Thousand Pillar temple, the most attractive Ramappa Temple, Swayambhu Lord Shiva's ancient temple, Pakhal lake, Warangal Fort, Eturnagaram Wildlife, Bhadra Kali Temple etc. Archaeological Survey Of India's ignorance has lead many heritages into ruins and still they are lagging to preserve the glorious past. Locals are quite fond of Cinema as numbers of theatres are available in the city.

It has many comfortable budget and luxury Hotels to host the visitors and I liked The Grand Gayathri Hotel a budget hotel but facilities are not less than a luxury hotel has two restaurants Non-vegetarian and Vegetarian separately, situated close to the Warangal Railway Station. It has many Restaurants such as New Shalimar Biryani Hotel, Bayleaf Family Restaurant, Green Bawarchi Restaurant, City Dhaba etc and I liked country restaurants as they serve the fresh famous Udupi dishes and Chicken Chettinad of Grand Gayathri's Essence a real taste.

This place is a nice and naturally beautiful place and the best time to visit is from October to February, to enjoy the Kakatiyas Capital. Local language is Telugu and English and Hindi are spoken very less, so to avoid any hindrance request for a driver who knows the languages and refer the best traveller's guide which is HolidayIQ and prepare a map to instruct the driver for the distant sights.
