Chosen in 1973 as the launching point of Project Tiger in India, it is one of the oldest national parks of the country. The park has seen several revisions in its name from The Hailey National Park in 1936, to Ramganga National Park in 1952, to finally Corbett National Park in 1957. It has been named in memory of the famous native of the region, Jim Corbett, who changed from being a legendary hunter to a savior of animals.

First of all, the resort is still quite new, and the rooms and cottages are large, spacious, well appointed and beautifully located. The staff are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The resort isn't hard to find either, and that's helpful. The quality of food served is also quite good - although it might be helpful to explore plans that include all meals, since you are quite far away from civilization and other dining options. The reservations and check in process was a breeze - thanks to the efforts of Mr. Arun, who was helpful, kind and full of great suggestions. The naturalist on staff is fantastic - and the safari driver that we had was brilliant - he was actually willing to stop along the way, which allowed the animals to come back on to the road due to the silencing of the loud engine. The safari itself was a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime experience - and I enjoyed it greatly! I also had the chance to go on a nature walk with the naturalist - and his knowledge about trees and birds is fantastic. One of my objectives on the trip - besides the safari, of course - was to relax and catch up on my reading. As a result, I didn't experience too much of the activities on offer, but I am sure they are quite high quality as well. The part I enjoyed the most was that my room looked out partly into the wilderness and partly into a cultivation field. Thanks to the out-of-the-way location, there is little light pollution, and at 5 am, you can see literally millions of stars in the sky, while being serenaded by the sound of a number of animals, including elephants, crossing nearby. Overall, this was one of the most unforgettable and wonderful experiences I have had in India. Aahana truly puts the Incredible in Incredible India!

We stayed at Mountain trail resort in middle of June and was a welcome break from crowds and heat of Delhi. Facility is well thought out and beautifully designed. Food was well cooked and home like- not too greasy or spicy, Special kudos to Harish and Raju for always assisting when needed but not being intrusive. Read instructions on web site before booking to make sure that this is kind of place you are looking for - it was a great fit for us as a family.

The room was cleaned every day, towels and sheets changed. The trips to the Park were very well organized (and yes, we saw a tiger!!). The main asset of this hotel is its staff- they simply try to guess your needs. This is the best resort and we had a awosome stay....
