I had a truly wonderful and relaxing vacation. The Taj Village has beautifully landscaped gardens, large and spacious electrified cottages which have recently been refurbished into plush rooms with plasma and spacious bathrooms. I ate in all the interesting restaurants on the premise, The Caravella, and the Banyan Tree which were both very good. The pool was well maintained and the attendants were always ready to assist you. Due to the monsoons and high tide, the beach remained closed, but the view was simply spectacular! The activities in the village were tailored more towards families and children, so there wasn't much for the couples or individual adult guests. But overall, very relaxing with a great health spa adjacent to the village in the Taj Aguada. I had a different massage everyday!
Best Experience: I planned with the hotel staff to have a private dinner on the lawns of our own cottage one evening. The hotel staff did a great job in making it a special and perfect evening. They organized delicious food, good wine and beautiful candlelit decor to make the evening an unforgettable one. Each one of my guests and friends had a wonderful memorable evening!
Worst Experience: The water in my bathroom took several minutes to heat, so I had to plan and wait a while each time I wanted to shower!
My overall expierience was good because of the exceptional service the staff of the resort provided and the kind of effort they put in to serve you. The only thing which disappoints is the size of the room considering I stayed at one of their costlier options the sea facing room. And their resteaurents which gives a very outdated feel to the diners.
Best Experience: The best expierience i had was at their martini bar which has beautiful setting.sitting their under the stars by the sea sipping you stress away.
Worst Experience: The worst experince was having toi eat their below average food in terms of presentaion and taste.I must add their breakfast buffet is the worst i have ever had and i include 3star deluxe properties . their buffet spread whether breakfast, lunch or dinner was the most unimaginative and unsatisfactory.
The overall experience was wonderful, primarily because of the location- The Fort, the sun, the sand- everything you could ask for in a holiday- The problems arise when you're strolling down the bech for some of that fresh air- you are assaulted by a wave of vendors peddling everything from adventure sports to bangles and baubles. Quite disturbing
Best Experience: I was staying for my birthday, and not only did I get a cake in my room at the stroke of midnight(after ensuring that I was awake), but the F& B manager had arrange a special lunch with a specially selected wine for my Husband and me... I was very touched that they remembered and went out of their way to make my day special
Worst Experience: The service at the reception needs looking into. the reception is confused, and there is no co-ordination between the front office and the reservations, also, the night and Day manager at the front office are quite unaware of instructions passed by guests to them
The overall experience of the trip was good. The property is at an excellent location, just on the beach. You can have a great view of Arabian Sea from their Terrace, which is actually on the lobby floor The property is more of a hotel than a resort as it is build around Fort Aguada, so not much area to walk. There is hardly any garden, as hotel is just near the sea. The pool is as big as shown on the hotel website The staff is polite, although they seem to be in good mood. So expect slippage in some services. They may forget something which you would have told or the service delivery may be delayed. Overall food served during breakfast and otherwise at Latitude Restaurant is okay, not that great. Have eaten better food at other Taj locations. Although their Italian restaurant serves good food Advice to travelers - Since the property is dated, so there is no elevator in the hotel. For elderly this may be pain, as they have to always walk via staircase. Do not take rooms at lobby floor for elderly, as all restaurants, including Latitude are one floor down Many of their services like SPA, GYM etc are shared with their cousin property - Taj Holiday Village, which is just 200-300 meters away. One good thing is that if you are staying at Taj Aguada, you can eat at Holiday village as well - if you have taken their all meal package. Hotel provides free car service for dropping at their cousin property. There is also a sun-set point within the property, at a higher location, they take you there via free car, but beware of mosquito there. Ask for room freshener regularly. As rooms get bit smelly due to dampness, being near to sea. Property gets really boring in off-seasons. As they do not do any activity. Try not to eat always at Taj Aguada, as options are few. Plus their buffet spread is not that great. Try some options in nearby Candolim and Calangute. Actually not a wah taj experience. I went to Holiday Village property as well, guess it is slightly expensive, but far better. So if you are willing to shell out money, try Taj Holiday Village, rather than Taj Aguada.
We stayed at this hotel on a family trip celebrating my 50th birthday. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. We got a garden facing room which overlooked the sea. The view from the room was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and well furnished, though the furniture looked Little Bit old But I can Understand As The Hotel Was Fully Occupies So Its Obvious. The bathrooms were big with all facilities in one place. The only problem was it was old and needed to be renovated but as I motioned above that hotel was fully occupied so it was difficult for staff to manage everything in such a short time. Overall cleanliness and hygiene were good. Taj always has the most courteous staff who are always ready to help. If you stay in this property you also have access to the neighboring taj property Holiday Village. There are hotel owned cars which drop you to the other hotel and to the gym. You could use the pools from both the property. The pool at Aguada had a wonderful view but the pool at Holiday Village was much bigger and nicer. The Bar and lounge next to the pool at Aguada is a must do. Sit there, relax have a drink and watch the sea. The buffet spread was very lavish with enough options for vegetarians as well as non vegetarians. Do try their salads and desserts. They are to die for. All in all it was a wonderful experience as they also arranged for a complimentary family photo shoot and cake cutting ceremony for my birthday. They also gifted us a framed family photograph. All in all its a very big and beautifully done property. You should explore the cottages up on the hill as well and go see the last point uphill and enjoy the beautiful landscape and greenery. Also there is a very popular night club called Sinq opposite Holiday Village. All in all a Thumbs Up if they renovate the rooms a little bit. I would Love to visit again with my family.
