I was in tonal sylvia in march 2010 with my family( me 34 wife 32, child 10 & 7 yrs). Resort is clean & good. Food is also good. Service is good. Front desk staff needs to be more polite. Rooms are very small comparing amount we spend & 4 star rating. Bathrooms are really very-2 small & not of modern look. My view is that is someone spend too much amount definitely he should not chose this resort viewing room size & bathroom conditions.
Best Experience: Good food & good service, good pool
Worst Experience: Bad bathrooms. My check in & booking experience was bad too. I booked through cox & kings. My booking was confirmed & i also carry check in vouchers. But when i call resort one day before check in ,( i was in train ) resort reception told me that they have no booking in my name. When i tell them about voucher then they told me that they have my booking earlier but cox & king cancel that booking. Than i call cox & kings he said me to wait for 20 minute. After 20 minute i got a call from cox & king & they told me that my booking is confirmed it was mistake of that resort.then i again call dona sylvia than with sorry they confirm my booking. After all this when i check in they told me that i have to pay for child extra (while it was include in my package & clearly mentioned in check in voucher). Then again i contact cox & kings than after one day resort reception feel sorry for that.
Dona Sylvia beach resort is located on Cavelossim right before the beginning of the beach. The resort has an access to the beach and since it is separated from the main beach, you can certainly find limited tourists The hotel is a Mediterranean style resort made in a large space. The rooms are spread out all across in the huts. They have 186 rooms and cottages. There is a huge swimming pool right in the middle of the resort. The resort boasts itself of large open spaces Check in was very smooth. I had arrived at 9AM where as my actual check in at 1PM. I was allotted a room when I requested immediately. Rooms are cosy if not comfortable. They have basic amenities in the rooms. Bath rooms have basic needs and they provide others when you ask for. Beds are very comfortable and the air conditioner was not very effective forcing me to switch on the fan The resort has 4 restaurants- The Seagull, centrally located buffet restaurants that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Amelia is the roof top lounge that gives a beautiful view of the resort. Kabas and curries is an Indian restaurant which offers dinner and Mama Mia is a fusion grill restaurant on the pool side The people at the hotel are good and the service in the restaurants is very good. They are very accommodating wherever possible. The only hitch that I found is that the room service is very slow Overall, the resort is a very good one with the access to the beach. But After having stayed in many resorts in Goa, both five star and non star, If I ask myself if it is value for money, I wouldn't think so.
the place was great.there was a big swimming pool,3bars and 3restrants.it is just a 2 minutes walk from the beach. the hotel staff, chefs, workers were very kind and helping.the food was great.the hotel also had a tennis court and a football ground.they also have a club house in which there are various board games,a cyber cafe,a play station 2.it was one of the best hotels.
Best Experience: my best experience was the the great food.there was about 14 veg main course dishes and 5 non veg. there was a salad counter,a barand a desert counter.there was also live pasta and other counters.the food was tasty and good.
Worst Experience: the beach was not as expected.many beach shacks had spoilt the beach and it was not as we had seen it earlier when we stayed at the hotel in earlier this year
Heaven with the appearance, service and amazing lagoon view rooms. I have searched many hotels and resort but when I see about that I stunned and I recommend my friends also and they promised to go. Such a lovely and romantic place to stay with special ones.
Nice, quiet hotel with clean rooms and very good food. The complex is very well maintained and the beach invites you to relax Only drawback: the beach does not belong to the hotel, you have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach at Beach Shacks dubious. The rest are cobbled together from old boards Conclusion: Very suitable for a relaxing beach holiday! Food was very tasty and varied! Hotel's own beach would be better.
