It's one of the best home stay located at the perfect location around Chikmagalur. The home stay owner was very caring and the service was brilliant. Food was exceptional both veg and non-veg. One should have the coffee here which is the best. They also take visitors for the trekking which was inside the coffee estate and back of the home stay. The nature is mesmerizing. The roads are surrounded by greenery which will take us to another world. And moreover it was budget orientated home stay. So you are not gonna lose much to get the fantastic experience.
The pros: . . - Natural untouched beauty. In the mornings we were woken up by the cheerful and animated chirping of birds. The log cabins are surrounded by dense vegetation - spic and span cosy log cabins, spacious clean bathrooms. Not even a speck of dust anywhere in the room or the bathroom - hygienically prepared and served food. Can't forget the fresh juice served every morning with breakfast, the awesome signature salad prepared by the cook raju, most importantly the nosily perfect tasting food. Since the dining hall is right next to the kitchen guests can see for themselves how clean the kitchen is kept - since the property has only 4 log huts it has a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. You may choose almost total privacy or the chance of interacting with the other guests in the evenings at the gazebo around the bonfire - warm hospitality of the entire staff under the personal guidance of ajoy - the man behind Kerehaklu - runs the place with his heart and soul. He is a hands-on guy and has no manager to run the show. I really don't think Kerehaklu is just a business for him, he actually takes immense pleasure and perhaps pride in looking after all his guests personally The cons:. Lemme think my head) that indeed is a tough one. Honestly, there are no cons in case you are wanting a quiet time with your family. So for my husband and me it was just the perfect getaway we were looking for Since this place has no tv/internet/ swimming pool/ table reinstating etc (activities that all commercial resorts offer) it may fail to enthrall some of you. If you are looking for the activity based resort this is not the place for you. I guess you just need to be sure what you are going there for Things to do there:. It's a perfect place to visit if all you want to do is nothing and just relax and connect with nature and your family !! By the way, before we reached Kerehaklu, we had planned to explore the neighbouring places. But once we entered the resort we were so mesmerized by its beauty that we decided to make the most of our stay there For those who like hiking and walking, the place has meticulously marked walking trails with clear instructions about which trails are meant for the fit and which ones for the not so fit. The only reason we stepped out of the resort was to walk through these beautiful trials My husband and I carried our cycle and had fun cycling near the property. For the naturalists and yoga enthusiasts, it's a perfect place to meditate and do your pranayam, thanks to the pristine air Overall, the trip to Kerehaklu was so relaxing for us that we do plan to visit again whenever we need to detoxify our body, mind and soul. Next visit we hope to make it a 3 night stay rather than the short 2 nights we spent. Oh! I forgot to mention, this heaven on earth is not too far either from Bangalore (just about a 5 hours drive). So happy Keelhauling to all of you who decide to visit the place.
We stayed there for 2 days during the month of July; liked the location very much. Only difficulty was finding the exact location of the homestay from Chikmagalur town; The homestay owner has confirmed that we can find it using Google map now. In case unable to locate, please check for Adlur post office, the homestay is right next to it. The homestay owner is very friendly. Not many activities are there, but for peaceful holiday out from city crowd, its the Perfect Place with awesome traditional homemade food. You can take a walk in the plantation, look at the wild flowers. The only sound you can hear is the sound of birds . Stayed July 2013, travelled as a couple.
Very hygienic place and great hospitality by owner
The place is really very hygienic and maintained very well. It's a lush green Coffee Estate which has a beautiful view from the terrace. It is only 50 kms away from Sringeri and Hornadu. December and January would be the ideal time to visit since the weather would be really chill and it would really make you feel awesome. The food that is served is exceptional and the hospitality of the owners are really great.
One of my friend stays in Chikmagalur, so usually when i want to get of the work pressure and stress this is the first and the closest place that comes to my mind. We were a group of four and had a great time at this home stay. Its a beautiful place completely covered with fog and mist around in the morning. This is a well known place to my friend so we normally don\'t pre-book. Rooms are big and clean since it is run by a family. If you check the architectural design of this home stay, its just wonderful. You get to discover the olden days traditional structures.Food was xtra-ordinary, especially the typical akki roti and chicken curry and few more non-veg dishes are mouth watering. You want to get away during the weekend or a short stay then this is the place.
Best Experience: Food and the hospitality is the best that i found here. though run by a family and not professionals, they are much aware of hospitality.
