The NEST is located in Aniadah Village overlooking a tea plantation. Location of the resort could not have been better. The roadway from Wellington to Aniadah Village is very scenic and one will enjoy every bit of the journey. Try to reserve the first cottage as it gives a splendid view of the adjacent hill. Sipping on to your favourite beverage from the balcony or the extended window panes, and overlooking the tea plantation at the early hours of the morning or late hours of the night - gives you the feeling that is very hard to describe.
Best Experience: 1. Wonderful location of the resort 2. Very neatly designed and maintained well 3. Bonfire at night 4. Morning and Night - the view from the windows or the veranda - too hard to put into words 5. Unknown dam close to the Aniadah Village which is not frequented by visitors
Worst Experience: 1. Food is neither excellent nor bad; Can be rated good. The quality of food can be improved to make it at par with the quality of staying. 2. Has Tata Sky connection in the rooms, but the morning we were checking out the service was unavailable as the dues were not cleared.
We were a pair of couples and stayed for a day at The Nest. The booking was made via Stayzilla as an alternate to the booking which they initially made in a different hotel but was full. We went there without any previous reviews and had least expectations. Before we reached, we were called by the homestay representative Sucheta and she asked if we had any issues in finding the route and if we needed any help. That sort of made us feel important We reached the homestay and given the front cottage which had 2 rooms. The view from there was just heavenly as we could see a Tea estate right in front. They checked what we would like for dinner and we requested for vegetarian food. In the evening they arranged campfire which was quite good in that cold weather. The dinner proved to be quite delicious and we would have paid anything for that kind of food. The staff was very friendly and always smiling. In our cottage there was a carrom board which we played and enjoyed Meanwhile, we kept getting calls from Sucheta, she was not staying there but kept checking if we needed anything. The owner of the homestay happened to be there that weekend and it was a delight to meet him. He made us feel at home and even suggested how we could plan our trip next day. Next day morning breakfast was complimentary and as expected (our expectations rose after dinner) it was superb. We then checked out and thanked everyone for the peaceful and refreshing stay.
Ravi and his wife (caretakers are sweet, helping, have good conduct and quite approachable for suggestions and tips). Food was execellent. I always believed that good simple homely fresh, hot and tasty. The view from the cottage was superb. Personally, I liked the quiet, tranquility the place has to offer. Hot water from geyser was good. Hammock at the entrance was refreshing. My son enjoyed the food the most. It was a memorable quiet holiday rather than than spending in a commercially exploited hotels and irritating tourist crowd in Ooty at this time of the year.
Best Experience: Trekking towards Ralliah Dam was very good, thats the cleaniest, quite place, all alone by yourself among nature was what i liked the most. Bonfire was good Overall a good package. Watching wild bison on the hills, supported by Ravi.
Worst Experience: Lots of houseflies in the dining area. Very sick.............. Tatasky did not have any channels other than Tamil, even kids channels were not there, kid found it boring once back in the room.. Cleanliness of the washroom area and general housekeeping everyday of the stay in the dining area and in the guests room.
After much research and careful understanding I chose Sunvalley Homestay, for my one night stay in Coonoor along with my family. The drive up the hill was an exciting journey but, I was slightly unsure about the exact location of Sunvalley Homestay, Coonoor but they had put sufficient sign boards on the way that I did not need to ask anybody and reached the location easily. Appreciably they had sent me prevail email with their food menu and a map to reach the location map, which I was not expecting and came as a pleasant surprise The check-in took very little time and was amazed to see many smiling faces around me. At this point I was still skeptical about the room and it's views. As soon as I was made welcome in my room, I was completely in awe of the views available from all of the properties in this homestay A lot of planning has gone into the build and very good privacy is maintained all through the different rooms. The rooms are spacious with all amenities required. The food was awesome, simple and tasty. The views from the restaurant were breathtaking. I cannot fail to mention Mr. Chottu who made everybody's stay awesome with his smiling face and helping nature. True value for money.
The rooms were very spacious. Nest the is an excellent place for a family to go for a change from the Summer. The stay was pleasant and the service was good.Mr,Ravi Kumar the care taker deserves compliments and his delicious dishes as per our request was nicely prepared and served.the cost at very reasonable price.
Best Experience: the rooms spacious, cosy and comfortable. each room for each couple. Food delicious. for the price it is worth.
Worst Experience: nothing to comment. Mr.Ravi Kumar must get an assistant to look after the upkeep and maintenance.I request Mrs. Chandra to get him an asst. to deal with the upkeep and maintenance on a regular basis. but as I said nothing to comment.except this minor thing.
