I had been to Betri Waterfront Cottage in Coorg in the month of December. It was located little outside the city. No WiFi facilities were provided. The service was available for twenty four hours. The room allotted to me was clean and well maintained. The hot water was provided. Complimentary breakfast and dinner was provided. There were no other activities in the hotel. No WiFi facility was provided. The appearance of the hotel was good. I would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers.
Overall experience was good. Coorg has an excellent vegetation. The coffee estates blends well with the tall trees which gives a feeling of visiting a dense forest. The meandering rivers and the free flowing water falls gives a mystic charm to the one of the best places in karnataka.
Best Experience: Had wonderful time visiting various places in and around coorg. Visited a coffee estate and had chat with the plantation workers and got many information on coffee. Having great interest in visiting forests and having interest in wildlife, coorg was a perfect hangout for me.
Worst Experience: March is not a perfect time to visit coorg. The weather was hot. Was comfortable in the A/C car than waiting outside in the killer heat. Never thought that i might need a fan in a hillstation. Frequent power cuts also added to misery.
The lovely place, the home , the food, the service coupled with the lovely weather and the scenic beauty made this holiday worth remembering. Everything was perfect except that you have to travel a little bit to reach the place.
Best Experience: A great location overlooking the Harangi river and a good location for long walks and some peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Worst Experience: The bad thing about this place is that it away from the main city area and you have to travel quite a bit to reach there. Also, the food is tasty but a little expensive.
Honeypot homes was the first hotel I have located through holidayiq and in retrospect it turned out to be a good decision. The cottages are designed and furnished with good taste. Great feel of nature all around. Birdsounds, mist, gentle rain and silence. Discreet and efficient service. Good simple home food. Great shopping for coffee, white pepper, cardamom and vanilla. Thank you Mr. Shamveel, Mr. Janardan and holidayiq !. The road leading through the estate and heading up for sidhapur and the cofee estates is beautiful! One can drive up and picnic everyday of the holiday !. As for the much touted 'tourist sites'-talacauvery, bhagmandla, dubare elephant camp, abbey falls, raja's seat-avoid !. Fancy a great buffet? Orange county has a great lunch/dinner buffet for 500/+taxes.
Best Experience: driving up towards sidhapur/orange county ,passing through tata coffee's cannoncadoo estates
Worst Experience: dubare elephant camp.thankfully exited the place after 5 minutes. abbey falls.filthy and badly maitained. talacauvery.nice drive.but don't expect a mighty gushing river.the river has been reduced to a small pond where you can buy prasad and wash your sins away!fun if you are the religous kind!
We visited Coorg for a change of climate. It was an unique experience to stay at Hotel Parumpara with a woods like surrounding. Food was nice but the breakfasts menu was repeated on the third day. We enjoyed the entertainment programs presented in the evening. Regarding rooms, the rooms were too cosy and few of the fixtures were broken. Room service was nice and attentive.
