We six of my friends visited this place and stayed for three days and was an awesome experience. The staff were very helpful and the place/ room was very clean and calm Pool was maintained very good and food was excellent. Good and clean bed and other basic amenities. They even arranged for a bonfire on request and helped us with a smiley face to our last minute requests late night for food and drinks Ample parking space and its a good place to spend time. There is no restaurant nearby but their menu was good. Choice of drinks were less, however if you are going with family it does not matter. If you are in group, then consider ordering them beforehand so that they can get it from the nearby town during the day. They even arrange for boating on lake on request. It was a wonderful experience, compared to other costly hi-fi hotels on the other side of the lake. Waterwoods is truly worth the time and money that you spend. No doubt I would be choosing this resort for my future trips to Kabini. Thanks to Rajeshwari from Bangalore office of waterwoods who provided us with a room with lake view and all other staff at the resort who made our visit a memorable one. I will be visiting soon again with my family this year as well.
Have been to Kabini - stayed at waterwoods for 2 nights and 3 days in early June 2010. Excellent location. Waterwoods offer very attractive rates which includes food and accomodation. The room, service and environment at waterwoods simply great (being a vegetarian). My and my my sister\'s family simply enjoyed saty at the place.
Best Experience: Food quality (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was superb at waterwoods. We went in a group of 8 people and none of us had any problem whatsoever during and after taking the food. The taste was superb. The staff at waterwoods are very courteous.
Worst Experience: AC in the room as sometimes not working properly. Also Waterwoods do not have licence to take guests for Wildlife safari. It seems the licence they had has expired and they are waiting for renewal. Unfortunately it was not renewed when we went. However, they did arrange for safari through another resort and that was an example of very good service.
Waterwood in Kabini is a serine place to indulge with nature. The resort is located on the river bank of Kabini, with great amenities to make your stay blissful. The resort provides healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most of the vegetables are grown in the premises of Waterwood. They provide activities like boating, Jeep safari and bicycle ride around the resort. During night they arrange camp fire and if you are lucky enough you get to see wild animals come to drink water at river bank. It was an wonderful experience with Waterwood and a great place to spend your weekend in peace.
What can be said, rather what not. Everything about this resort was just perfect except for the fact that currently they are operating on only 6 rooms when other 9 rooms are under renovation which can be a drawback if you need to book more than 6 rooms. We stayed here for 2 days and it was so good that my wife wanted to stay back for another couple of days which was not possible because of my work. About rooms I would say that rooms on first floor are having the best view and are the best among all. You have a big balcony with easy chair and river facing apartments, its the best place to relax doing nothing If you want you options to read books from available collection, play carom board, cricket, you can get a bicycle and go cycling along the river, you have option of boating and those beach scooters also. For Jungle safari (twice a day at 6. 30AM and 3. 30PM) you have to join everyone else In adjacent JLR resort from where safari starts (this is worth doing). Rooms are big, clean and with comfortable bed, bathrooms are also big and very hygienic. But best part about this place is its service, the staff is very courteous, humble and polite. They are always available even got tea served at 5. 30am in my room when we had to leave early Food is amazing, home cooked with fresh vegetables and fruits. I am not good at names but I guess the name of the cook is Mr. Vital (not sure with name), thanks to him for all the good food we had there and Mr. Chandru who was always there with suggestions and for service. Overall, its one for the few places I would like to return Room Tip: take the river facing apartments with balcony and better is to go for evening safari carry enough cash to meet all your expenses, network can be a problem, keep you oil tanks (car) full.
Best Experience: The staff is courteous but the owners have an attitude which puts one off.
There are rabbits, dogs and ducks which makes the place a little liveable !!
Safari is the only activity and there is nothing to keep you occupied at water-woods.
Worst Experience: This place is throughly over-priced and at the end of our holiday we were extremely disappointed. Rooms are dungy, A/C didnot work properly and lots of electricity problems. Their website mentions a well-equipped Gym but when we enquired, it was not for the guests but only for the Owners use. Food was very oily and no variety AT ALL. All i ate was bringals and lady-finger !! There is no rate card available and we were not even informed that the mineral water kept on the dining table is on chargeable basis. We felt cheated.
They dont have naturists who can take you bird-watching nor do they have anyone to take you trekking (as promised on their website). We could not go on the boat safari since their boat was not operational. No travel desk to help you plan your time and the only activity they talk about is the safari which is expensive.
