Run by, this place is to die for. The service is impeccable. The rooms are clean, spacious, and wooden. The hotel has a lovely surrounding with apple orchard within the compound. It has also a wonderful in-house restaurant; they say the best in Kalpa. Always book the place through booking office directly as they can tell you exactly in which part and how the rooms are. Online booking can be made, but discussing with helps. The hotel is located at a remote location, but the beauty is awesome. Go in group and enjoy. Try to avoid the tourist season.
Very good hotel, the location was excellent and this is value for money hotel. The rooms were neat and clean and food served was very tasty. The hotel looks nice and the staff was very cooperative. Kalpa is an excellent destination.
The Kinner Kailash (which is different from Kailash Cottage, though both are managed by HPTDC within the same complex) is wonderfully located in the Kinner Kailash mountain range of Kinnaur district. Just above Recong Peo, where the district headquarters are located, the extremely winding climb makes the journey to HPTDC Resort a real memorable one.
Best Experience: These are spectacular sights early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and golden light. There are several trails into the mountains and the nearby villages. Some of the homes have good wooden architechture of Himalayan Indian style with some Tibetean influence.
Worst Experience: No bad experience as such. Weather can be inclemental at times.
The hotel was located conveniently and was very good. Service was good. Staff were good and friendly, service was a bit delayed due to shortage of staff. Room was spacious, neat and well maintained. All amenities were there in the room and all were working properly. There was a beautiful view of mountains. There were no delay in check-in and check-out. There were no activities, no sightseeing. The hotel is recommendable to others and value for money. Appearance was good. The overall experience was good.
