This is an average hotel in Karwar. I had been there for some personal reasons. Rooms are okay. Bed was old. Washrooms standard was okay. AC was noisy. Condition was okay. Staff were good but they need to be trained more professionally. Food's standard was not up to mark. Service was slow. Pricing was fine but service is important and its standard should be raised definitely. Location is manageable.
I recently went to attend a friends marriage and stayed in this hotel. The outside view is divine and freaking good. Actually this is my second stay in the Ashok Hotel, the first a year back. The rooms are neat and spacious and good looking. The facilities are excellent like WiFi, lighting, air conditioning and so on. The staff people are very friendly and honest and good people. Food of that hotel is very yummy and mouth watering.
The hotel is situated in the center of the city near Gitanjali Talkies (close to bus stand). If you arrive by train, the hotel is about 7.5km from the railway station. The rikshaw people charge Rs.120 per trip as a fixed price from the railway station to the hotel. Rooms are decent but no western style toilets available in the hotel. Hot water facility is available almost throughout the day.
The location is good, they have tons of room but lacks maintenance. This Ashok lodge is very worst lodge in Karwar. Reception people are arrogant and they treated the guest very poor. We took double bed Room. Fan is not working properly and huge amount of dust and terrible smell in the bathrooms if we ask the Reception people they use vulgar words. Our Trip totally upset because of the reception person.
