The drive to the U-TAN resort was truly wonderful. It was not far from Mumbai, and was a real boon and non-exhaustive. The drive through the Uttan village was also interesting to get a glimpse of their culture. The Resort was beautifully located and a perfect destination for weekend relaxation.
Best Experience: The Sunset cottage was really apt and had a great view. The view from anywhere in the resort was absolutely picturesque ! The sunset though not visible due to cloud cover had enough scenary to take 30 - 40 snaps. The greenery all around and the blue pool added to the relaxing mood. Had great moments of enjoyment of driving to the Light House nearby and interacting with the fishermen families.
Worst Experience: The food was good, but really expected some great sea cuisines (with the sea being next door) There could have been some barbeques in the open garden which could have been absolutely fantastic with the wine. There were no other restaurants nearby, which could have added to the experience. Overall, a dissappointment in terms of eateries !!
Traveling to this beautiful resort is easy if you have a vehicle. Even otherwise, taking a bus from Bhayander station helps. It is better to have your own vehicle as it is easier that way. Rickshaws will charge you anything between 100 to 130 rupees, but if you are paying 130, ensure you are getting dropped at the foot of the resort. Walking uphill is not at all a good idea there. The place is quite scenic and tranquil, usually frequented by families, and you will not be disturbed. The service was quite good both times for me, and I had a peaceful stay there. Booking for the same can be done at either Juhu or at the resort itself. The rates are a bit on the higher side, though. The view is fantastic, although there are few other things that you can do there. Walking on the beach is not a good idea. The food is good, and priced a bit steep. Power cuts might occur sometimes, but considering the environment, doesn\'t really matter. Overall, a good experience if you want a peaceful stay in a scenic location.
Best Experience: Both stays were very good, the first one was extremely peaceful, and I had a wonderful time, service, contrary to what we had heard, was good.
Worst Experience: They forgot to send me something which I had asked for, probably someone forgot I had ordered something.
The overall experience was good. Getting there is easy, so no waste of time on travel and the stay was very relaxing. There were the usual irritants - - the room service is laid back and follow up required for simple requests like first aid, lunch, etc. - Settling Payments - While booking we were given some promise, which was denied at the time of payment. A case of false promise to get booking - The package pricing is not only \'expensive\' but also confusing and irrational.
Food is yummy!
Best Experience: The sunset view was amazing experience from the poolside hammock. We played shuttle in the night before getting into a rejuvinating spa. And the food ofcourse!
Worst Experience: The payment desk was confused ... and denied us the terms that we were promised while booking. They did not even care to chk internally and blamed us for not understanding what we were told!!!
Well-appointed & well-maintained rooms, each one of them with balconies having superb sea view. Very courteous staff and very good service. Excellent food. Overall a beautiful getaway from the Mumbai madness.
Best Experience: We really had a great dining experience.
Worst Experience: Should provide a regular cup-board with hangers for clothes.
Great location. Extremely convinient because of proximity to Mumbai city. Ideal for liesurely weekend break from hectic lifestyle of Bombay city. Just relax in the verandah watching sunset and mildly crashing sea waves. Best destressing remedy! Walk towards fisherman\'s village, play pool football in their swimming pool, watch sunrise and sunset... This proved to be gr8 relaxing and re-juvenating experience.
Best Experience: Calm and soothing environment. Though near the city yet a great place. Nice cottages give a homely feeling. Sunrise and sunset viewed from the verandah is a treat worthwhile. Well maintained cottages, beautiful location, great sea-view and sunset-view, peaceful environment are all strong points of this resort. They all make a completely relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
Worst Experience: Sevice is not upto the mark. Food is mediocre. They entertain a lot of company conference crowd and this takes away the charm of this palce. Other guests are forced to eat in their rooms. Service becomes even worst at such times. Holding this kind of conference is spoiling the image of this place. Food needs a lot of improvement. Prices are not value for money, for lodging and boarding both.
