I decided Manali, Michael Pradesh as my honeymoon destination as this was my wife's choice. I stayed in The Himalayan Resort and Spa. It was within our budget and provided facilities of 5 star hotel. They gave us a decent discount as we were planning to stay there for 5 nights . . The rooms were very victorian-castle like. The furniture was top-end and was a delight to use. The bed was not at all good(one-two display sticks was broken), although the mattress was very comfortable, the bed sheets and pillow covers were clean. The towels too were changed when we checked-in and they changed all the towels everyday without we telling them. TV, was a great disappointment, it was a CRT with very average sound and picture quality. Though it was not at all a problem, but with such a high class room, an LED would have only made it appear more nice. Staff were very good. Room service was prompt. The best part was that cabs were arranged by a member of staff in the resort and drivers were very courteous. The fare was very genuine as well as we travelled on all days to different and sometimes far of places. They were knowledgeable and cabs were in good condition We didn't have time to try the bar, gym and pool as we went in march and it was snowing to our luck. Well the best thing is that they have cottages which is pretty expensive though 15K for a night but that is another world. View from this hotel (from most of the rooms) had all snookered peaks and valleys. Its very quiet around the resort, perfect for the romantic moments we were looking for. Its also very near to mall road, approximately one-two km.
The Himalayan Resort and Spa is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Manali. Built in style of a Gothic castle, it has beautifully done rooms with all modern facilities. Also, there are amazingly done cottages with luxurious amenities. A swimming pool and the poolside sitting area. Staff were very helpful and really good food. Located at a very convenient area and yet away from the rush of the town.
Awesome hotel with exciting activity and helpful staff
I had been to Manali with my family for relaxation and the location was very beautiful and calm surrounding. The appearance was quite attractive and staff were helpful and really friendly in behaviour. The room allotted was spacious and well maintained with all the needful amenities and food served in the hotel was best, it was best food I had have in my life. The hotel had a swimming pool and some games were conducted which were really exciting. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers to visit here and stay at least for two days .
Wonderful hotel; helpful staff and overpriced food
Although this hotel doesn't figure on many travel sites, its definitely a wonderful place! It's a stone structure and has a lovely British castle like feel with very well furnished and maintained cottages. Every minute detail is taken good care of. From helpful staff, furniture in the cottage and immaculate cleanliness. The view from the cottage is awesome with the snow capped peaks on one end and the swimming pool on the other. Very tastefully done landscape gardening and flowers is a wonderful sight! The only hitch is the food. It may be labelled as average or slightly better, but is surely overpriced although the quantity is quite good. The apple pie is a disaster with overloaded cinnamon flavour. Butter chicken is a bit sweetish. They surely need to bring down the prices of the food if possible. However, there's a lovely restaurant few steps away which serves very good Italian food like pizzas, pastas etc! Surely check that out. All in all, a very memorable hotel!
A great place, the hotel is spaced out and there is enough space to relax and walk around. If it's not too cold, you could also go for a swim. A good place to relax and get away from the crowd, the view is terrific. I would recommend walking around the castle and exploring the place, it is not like any hotel that I have been to yet Definitely visit the 'Crows Nest' (watch tower) for an amazing 360 view of the place. I will give this a four and not a 5 only because I feel that it wasn't completely value for money. This is one of the most expensive places in Manali, but didn't have too much to do in the hotel, as compared to some other premium resorts. Room Tip: if you want a castle experience, choose the rooms and not the cottage.
