Marvelous is the word. My experience at Club Mahindra, Lake View Resort was truly memorable. Their thoughtfulness can be seen in small things. The staircase one uses to descend to the reception area is cleaned every day, lest it gets slippery and dangerous with monsoon moss. There is an umbrella in every room, if you shy from the lovely drizzles of the tea-clad mountains. The balcony opens out to the mountains, giving you a breath taking view of the valley. And the people, the housekeeping people, the waiters, the shuttle driver, the receptionist . All of them were so friendly and nice. They pamper you and make you feel as if, there is no greater pleasure in their life than getting you, what you want. We came back all rejuvenated and charged up to get back to our busy life.
Best Experience: Food was always a delight. The menu was well selected to cater to all taste buds. There was a treat for everyone. But their salads stole the show. Deliciously flavored, fresh cut vegetables felt heavenly in the mouth. After 3 meals at the resort, we decided to have our next breakfast at saravana bhavan, just for the sake of trying it out. Right on the table their, we decided, that no more experimenting, we are going back Club Mahindra tea room for all our other meals. And ofcourse what can be said for satiating our appetites while our eyes soaked the view of Devikulam lake through the french window!!! Another thing that really wowed me was the cleanliness. The spick and span steam & sauna was very inviting. Inspite of the continuous downpours, they miraculously managed to keep the dirt away from even the pathway.
Worst Experience: However hard as I may think, I cannot remember a single experience, where I felt, that they gave us grief. Only thing that was bothersome was the booking process. Club Mahindra has a toll free number, which can be reached only through a BSNL line. Email communications are time consuming, so not an attractive option. A paid number would be anyday better than a toll free number, which is difficult to use.
We stayed there for two days in the month of March. I had gone with my girlfriend for a vacation there. My girlfriend wanted to specifically visit the 'Garam Masala' Plantations there. The destination was very good. There were lots of places to go sightseeing and the views were really good. The hotel location itself was really awesome. It was located at a height of 4500 feet and the view from up there was beautiful. The weather was nice and cold there, unlike my hometown, where it's very hot. The trees and the greenery were beautiful. We rented a bike and went uphill to the hotel. The look and feel of the hotel were really nice. Everything was good, including the atmosphere and the rooms. The reception area was really friendly and helpful in all aspects. We had done the booking online but we paid during check-in because we wanted to check out the hotel first. The rooms were really good. We even had a balcony and that gave us a beautiful outside view. The service was good, it was quick and efficient. The food was tasty too. There was everything that we needed at the hotel. It was very convenient. The rooms very luxurious and the atmosphere were cool, the location was really good, and the people were helpful. We actually thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
When we reach to the resort we have been offered the welcome Honey drink then the simple process for verification of our Club Mahindra Card. Then a luggage cab for our luggage to the room the area was big, surrounded by Ashtamudi Lake and mountain with typical Kerala scene, our room was floated room over the lake the rooms was 2BHK with balcony open was facing lake, toilet was neat and clean with Jacuzzi, hairdryer, telephone air freshener etc. We have been given a Locker at room for keeping our valuable things. The experience was speechless.
As a member of Club Mahindra, I have visited several resorts of CM but this is one of the premium property of CM located in midst of lush green tea gardens The place is perfect for all the age groups, the rooms are fantastic and all of them provides a valley view with excellent internal decor Restaurants provide mouthwatering delicious cuisine accompanied with lavish bar As a unique inbuilt feature of all CM resorts, this resort also has excellent fun zone which keeps your kids fully occupied throughout the day and every evening comprises of family get together with fun filled games and activities for all. The staff of Fun Zone is very caring and full of positive energy An overall memorable experience for us in Munnar.
